Looks fantastic graphically. I still don't know what the gameplay is though. It almost looks like the banner saga mixed with darkest dungeon and I would be interested in something like that. I don't know how you can put that protagonist in the same league as samurai jack or the hip hop samurais though. Seems kinda generic.
Beautiful. I never got around to playing the system shocks but bioshock is easily one of my favorites.
That's why the gaming media is there. Because the gaming companies are there. I will let myself think that because it's true. Thanks anyways though.
Will do.
Also due to location.
He should stay in gaming. There aren't many in gaming media that aren't flamboyantly left winger. Probably mostly due to location. How has this dude's mind survived this long in San Francisco? If he wants to get into politics then that's fine, there's plenty of political crap to sift through in gaming these days too. I would enjoy a gaming podcast that leaned right or even center. The hard left shit is garbage.
Been a long time brah. I remember enough to know it's the best.
Polygon: "let's talk about someone who doesn't participate in group think"
Well that's a nice change of pace.
That was actually pretty funny. Now I see why he praised nioh so hard lol. They removed the durability from the betas.
@edmix
"it's simply that Publishers believe this."
"Publishers are not going to jump out and admit something like this but it is very clear that they have a belief that users want to play games in which they could see themselves represented"
- Which ones though? You yourself said it was a theory being tested by some. Who aren't testing that theory?
"The publisher doesn't need to admit that i...
Pathetic. I grow more respect for this dude by the day.
Never heard of them before.
I dunno I just don't see it anywhere. This "fear" of using a female protagonist. I don't even see the fear in marketing he talked about like the outdated "white male shepard". Andromeda clearly focused on the female option despite the overwhelming one-sided demographics. People don't care about that kind of shit honestly lol. Do you buy games based on representation? "Oh it's a female lead so I can't buy this game". Who says that? Lol

2 is the greatest in the series. Aside from that one spiked column part which is fucking AWFUL! Or was that gow1 I can't remember.
"She's actually in bed next to me, and thinks my blatantly obvious joke is funny. Because not all people are humorless sacks of shit. LOL."
Lmao! he got bullied out because that?! PATHETIC! I have new found respect and I will keep an eye out. I'm tired of the "liberal skewed" gaming media.
But they meet the criteria you mentioned. They have female protagonists, they are on the cover, single player only, no micros, no guns.
Horizon wasnt focused on Aloy in the marketing any more than those other titles. The females were pushed, why does it matter if she's an actress? Why does it matter if the game didn't become a blockbuster hit? That's like me saying "the marketing was more about the dinosaurs than it was about a female protagonist". It...
No there wasn't and it absolutely should.
Unless they can capture the brilliance of far cry 3 again then blood dragon 2 should be a nobrainer.
Everything is risky compared to a military shooter lol. There is no comparison to a fantasy game. You dismiss the risk of dishonored 2 marketing a female, why? Why is it not risky to change your protagonist in the sequel? The things you mention are not new though even for Sony so I'm trying to figure out how come to the conclusion that it sets a standard. You can see many females on Sony game covers. Games with single player only, no guns, no micros etc.
Until dawn, bey...
Showing the human side of master chief? Why start now?
I doubt it after this remaster tanks. 60 dollars is an absolute joke. Not to mention Duke as a preorder bonus forcing you to pay full retail. I will be highly surprised if this does well.
