It was always a sand box game first. The E3 demo just showed that they were adding a story to it.
At that point they lose control over pricing and take a 30% cut and then allow people to exploit Play Anywhere by buying the steam version which gives the PC/X1 version. Causing a massive loss in profits.
So yeah "A LOT more money" is a lie.
Play Anywhere is Cross Buy and for all future games it's a thing. By a game on digital and you get access to both versions. No codes, they just pop up on your libraries.
It's really sad tbh. I can't believe anyone would put faith in what's a good game from people like that.

Dividing Core and Competitive gameplay for balancing is smart since Gears has always had a very skill based feel to it, I do believe most will move towards Core playlists for higher damage on weapons.

Very beautiful, the art team at Coalition is pretty solid. And good to know Marcus still feels like Marcus.
On the flip side they still haven't shown many of the boss fights. Replacing Bezerkers/Brumaks for Horde 3.0 will be interesting.
