Just beat it on Hardcore. It's intense, has funny lines, the characters fit into Sera so well.
And the game feels like Gears of War with a few little additions to make it feel a bit fresh.
Coalition has proven that they can handle Gears with this title.
MS bought the IP a year after Judgement and then started development on Gears 4 immediately. So it added a year gap between games. Still not fading.

Down system is removed for both of those difficulties and it makes it quite challenging and rough. You got to be creative to survive and clear the enemies that jump down your throat.

You want a strong SP experience. Insane will probably give you that, since there are plenty of boss battles.
I mean are we really surprised Gamespot as a whole has always showed a bias dislike towards X1. I'm glad ReCore is selling well aswell. I desperately want a ReCore 2 after beating it (Took 13 hrs after getting 46 Prismatic Cores).

Horde is far from Pay to Win. You could dump a crap ton of money into Horde cards and upgrade the cards you want. Still not going to crush Insane 50 waves unless you've got a solid team.
And like Halo there's a Gameplay wall behind it, you can only use one card at a time till you lvl up the Class.
