Is this true? I don't know but seems more possible. The "PC" version looks a LOT better than the "X1" version...more than it should unless the dev's did a nice overhaul for the PC version.
Yeah, I'm not educated enough to know if what you say is true but it certainly seems more probable.
Wow, wasn't honestly expecting it to be this different. I mean, it's a given that the PC version would be better resolution and frame rate wise but I never would have thought that they'd include much better textures, tessellation, more and higher detailed props and assets, etc. I was just expecting sort of a X1 port...not something that looks like more a "true" PC version. Very impressive.
What a STUPID comment. For one it's all Microsoft, so there are no scraps. Secondly, one could only considering it "scraps" because MS PAID for it...not like Square did what they did because they just thought it was the "right" thing to do. And lastly the PC version not only looks better because of the better hardware but because they actually made a true PC version with better textures, more assets and props, better lighting, etc.
While, legally, what you say is true...if the DRM hasn't been cracked then the whole "circumvent particular content locking measures" doesn't matter.
So unless those that use DRM decide to crack their own games before they're no longer available on Steam or else where (where ever you PAID for it with your own money) then retro gaming is dead. Period.
DRM is nothing but a parasite all in the name of "good" while those that ...
Agreed. These anti-pirates/pro-DRM nut jobs literally gain NOTHING and have the chance the LOSE everything!
What happens when this uncrackable DRM goes by the wayside in 10 years and all your games you PAID FOR you can no longer play because you can't activate the game? Pirating has NEVER shown to hurt any industry, hell, they're all bigger than they've EVER been, especially gaming!
So yeah...all DRM does is hurt the product and consumer and d...
Did you think there wouldn't be?
Well there is nothing new here so accoutrement this is not.
Welp, there goes retro gaming! Have fun not being able to play these games in 10 years when the activation servers are down or you can't download it anywhere because no one carries it anymore.
I'd like to know what the people that are pro-DRM and anti-piracy think they're actually supporting. For one it's been shown that piracy doesn't hurt anything...movies, music, and gaming are bigger businesses then they've ever been despite pirating being easier...
"Yes graphics can be a good thing but Gameplay > Atmosphere > Graphics"
In your opinion.
People don't have high standards...we have expectations. When you initially show off your new game and it's the best graphics we've ever seen and you say "this is what it'll look like" and then you, for years, continue to show us videos and tech demos and screenshots of this wonderful game that stays wonderful looking and the...
Nah, not really. Not to this degree. I will admit that the graphics go down hill every time they've shown it but even the 2014 demo looks at least twice as better. The 2015 demo gave us a taste of the dumbing down but I still think it looked better than this video...and the 2015 demo was supposedly running on the X1.
Unlike Ubisoft, why would testers need to lie? To put their reputation on the line when people can see they're lying? Ubi's is already trashed so what would they care?
How is it that the guy in the beginning, the one going through the boxes, is clearly an animated event but yet his legs are still clipping through two of the boxes that are some how magically below him? Hmmm...
Otherwise I have to say that I'm not that impressed. It looks rather...bland. Sure it's "beta" as everyone keeps saying (as if these graphics are somehow going to get a lot better on launch) but man...the downgrade is goddamn for real on this one.
...
What the hell does it being an online game have anything to do with the graphics? Like, seriously?
The hardware can handle it though...that's the point of PC gaming...having the ability to get hardware that handles higher graphics settings. That's why I say it really makes no sense.
Is that why so much was downgraded? I mean, really, if you're going to say stuff like this then at least back it up. All the E3 videos that have been shown proves you guys can make incredible graphics and effects. So if you care so much about PC, the platform that can actually support everything, then why did you remove it all?
Do you know what a beta is? It's basically the finished product that's tested for bugs and server load, etc. The game is a little over a month away from releasing. If you thing there's going to be some dramatic changes to the graphics you're only fooling yourself.
Not to mention the fact that BECAUSE it's a beta there's no reason why they would hold back so many features and graphical upgrades because you want to test EVERYTHING and make sure it'...
And what's so goddamn pathetic about it is that they release those shots so close to the release and even closer to the beta AS IF people won't freaking notice! Oh here's some 4K PC screenshots on Ultra settings! We won't mention all the Photoshopping they went through though!
Is that why the 4K bullshots that were released just a couple days ago have basically already been proven as fake? People are starting to play the PC beta and the game doesn't even look like those shots!
All I hear from these people are bullshit and more bullshit. The game was downgraded. Stuff is gone, map is smaller, a lot of the more advanced graphical effects are gone, physics have been dumbed down, no companion tablet app, etc. Just come out and say it and quit act...
Maybe it's because I was gaming long before trophies and achievements (I'm 29 now) but I've just never really seen the point of them? I guess replay value?
@Neonridr
"But would there be any differences between the two versions?"
Unless you're playing on a PC with a 1080p monitor, limiting yourself to 30FPS, and using a controller instead of mouse and keyboard why would you even ask a silly question?
