I certainly haven't seen anything that comes close to global illumination. In fact, the lighting over all seems to be fake in a lot of cases. Just ran across two trees next to each other covered in yellow Christmas lights except one of them had red light surrounding it while the other tree next to it had the correctly colored yellow light around it. The only reason for one of the trees to have red light is if the lighting is fake/baked on.
No, people stabbing me in the back isn't "at it's best". It's called being an asshole, and I don't like assholes nor am I an asshole to other people. Plus it's too easy to kill in this game. If someone get's the drop on you it's nearly impossible to have enough time to react. Even at level 8 and having some *pretty* nice armor I can still be killed by lower level players pretty easily if they get a couple shots in before I can turn around.
Just be aware that the game is basically the same puzzle over and over again. You draw lines in a box full of squares with minor differences in each section of the island. As much as people like "goathouse774" like to play this game up and put down those aren't that fond of it in EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE ABOUT THIS GAME I'm telling you that as a long time fan of puzzlers (I've been enjoying them for over 20 years since Myst released...yes I'm old) this game, while GORGEO...
It's not "smug" to say that the game is overpriced for most gamers except those that MAYBE fall into the niche genre. It's not "smug" to say that the game isn't that exciting to play after a few hours of what boils down to the same puzzle over and over again (albeit with slight changes here and there).

I think the reason why it's a big deal is because The Division, since 2013, has made a lot of the focus about it's graphics. From tech demo's to developers constantly talking about this effect and these lighting techniques, etc.
Not to mention we've been told multiple times that there was no downgrade. From Massive and Ubisoft I believe.
So while it still looks damn good it doesn't look as good as we were ...
It is not one of the "best games in history". Maybe in your opinion but certainly wouldn't be held by the majority and I've played it. The graphics are GORGEOUS and there's a lot to see but the puzzles are overly repetitive (actually stopped playing because of this) and a lot of them are overly simple. Why does this need defending? If a game like The Witness is your type of game then you'll pay $40 for it. The unfortunate problem (that the dev doesn't seem to understand) is that it's also a very niche game. It's not like puzzlers are some massive demographic where millions upon millions are willing to shell out $40.

See, to me it's not always the graphical assets of console vs. PC that make me a PC gamer but it's the little things we do have control of like frame rate and resolution. Sure the PS4 and PC may look similar depending on the power of ones computer but for me I'm running it at 4K and 60FPS.
Just to chime in here but is it possible that sales aren't that good because it's a $40 puzzle game? I'm sure it would do much better if it were more reasonably priced.
Not that I'm saying it isn't a good game or anything but you're already targeting a very niche market and user base and charging a pretty hefty sum for it compared to other indie games.

Well there could be multiple reasons like their closed off libraries and deceptive marketing tactics but my post isn't about my dislike...it's about how this is a AMD game yet for no reason at all other than Nvidia throwing money at Square it's now some TWIMTBP title. Makes no sense.
