Having gotten to level 30 already just tonight I can say that, for the $30 I paid for it (CDKeys.com!), I've gotten my moneys worth already even if you can get through the main game pretty quickly.
So while the story wasn't incredibly long and there weren't as many main story missions as I would have wanted, especially for a game that's supposed to last considering it's nature and genre, it still pretty good.

Honestly other than the servers going down here and there I haven't had nearly any issues.
I did have the game launch twice to a black screen which I couldn't get out of...literally had to reset my PC. And I have had a few points where the game would freeze for a couple seconds...but other than those two issues I haven't had a problem. No crashing, no Alt+Tabbing problems, all the mechanics work as they should...

I agree with you though, especially when it comes to the interiors. The exteriors certainly shine in certain areas but doing missions and being inside some of these places can be absolutely stunning. Even the first mission inside Madison Square Garden looked amazing. The mall looked damn good too.

My biggest issue with the physics is just the consistency. Some windows you can shoot and they shatter and fall apart like you'd expect. Some windows you shoot though and it has barely any effect at all. Some brick walls will crumble when you shoot at them and leave a pile of debris...some don't do jack squat. Why would one brick wall react to my gun fire while another, that looks exactly the same, doesn't? It's certainly odd.

Ya know, when I watch stuff like this I'd really like to know why so much stuff get's replaced in the final version vs. the E3 demo. Like so many of the cars and just props in general looked so much better and detailed in the E3 demo. They clearly had the models made and all that...so why did nearly all of them get replaced? You already have the work done! Why did you re-do everything?

Well the only thing I can take away from seeing this is that they plan on making it 3D and that button is some dev mode. That's really the only explanation...no reason to do all that work and extra coding and shit just to not have it EVENTUALLY be part of the final game.

While I don't see this as a bad thing at all, even as someone that isn't a MAJOR fan I still rather enjoyed Unity and Syndicate. I can say that it'll be nice for the series to take a rest just for the sake of it but I don't think the games ever really suffered for it quality wise. Though I didn't think Brotherhood was that good but otherwise I've enjoyed all the major games so far, especially Black Flag!
I still don't get why people think Watchdogs was so dramatically different. Sure it had it's differences, for sure, but nothing to the degree that The Division has had if you know what to actually look for and what graphical features are what.
