What developer doesn't want to make a game for Kinect lol.
@below
No one expects FPSs from Kinect, anyone with any sense knows that. It would only work with FPSs as an addition to the controller.
He obviously wants to make something from the ground up with Kinect.
After trying it back in August at one of the galleries I knew it would work great, but even I was surprised how much they had improved in the final version.
You can tell everyone whose brought it loves it just buy looking at the consumer reviews on retail websites. The positive word of mouth is really what's going to sell Kinect to the masses.
Looks like Kinect is doing really well at GameStop, and most importantly people are buying games with it. That should help build confidence for developers looking to make games for it.
@ryuzu
They will easily reach their goal with Black Friday and xmas coming. They just have to make sure they continue to restock daily.
Bad move, would cause consoles to cost £500. Without competition Sony/MS can easily overcharge on everything.
They must be slapping themselves for passing it up.
@PimpHandHappy
Indeed they do
@Fishy Fingers
I don't get what you mean :s
I'm sorry what? lol.
The 360 has a record breaking attach rate, this is the best way Sony can spin their poor sales figures, even with a 50% increase they STILL sold the least amount of software. And I'm sure if Reach didn't release in Sept MS's software increase would be higher than theirs.
@MariaHelFutura
Ok you keep believing the PS3 has a better attach rate than the 360.
@FlatulentGhost
>_> I won'...
Wow MS certainly knows how to launch a product. Kinect's potential is incredible.
Even if these aren't accurate everything points to Move selling averagely and Sony over-shipping to make it seem like it's "exceeding expectations".
There was more footage of ME2 and Dragon Age than the actual game lol.
Doesn't look like ME3, could be a new IP.
Considering it continuously sells less than MS Points every month it's safe to say it not doing well. 400K in 2month is pretty weak and I guess Kinect has already outsold it too. 1.2ml seems a bit much for 2010 but Sony will likely stick to its SHIPPED numbers from now on.
After Black Friday Kinect will likely have surpassed the Move WW installbase too.
360 continues its dominance in the US, November should be record breaking.
And then sales suddenly mattered.
Considering its Patcher I guess Kinect will outsell Move by 100% through Jan lol.
No it was suggested cause the Xbox is the only thing in the EDD that's making a good profit and everything else in the division like the Zune brings its down making it look bad.
Splitting the division would allow shareholders to see just how well the Xbox is doing.
They will easily make that considering its constantly selling out and I've only started seeing Kinects TV ads in the UK. So its sales can only increase in speed from here on as more people become aware of it.
Not surprising. Could have been a bigger bump if MS managed to supply more stock.
@Lucreto
Wow talk about touchy lol. The UK is the second biggest region after the US for gaming, so I'm guessing sales went from somewhere around 20,000 to 40,000. No need to try and downplay Kinect's success.
In terms of sales Kinect is already selling faster than Move.
In terms of games Kinect has higher rated games made exclusively for it.
In terms of the future Kinect has far far more hardcore games being built from the ground up for it than Move and has a lot more 3rd parties backing it with exclusive games.
Also with the huge marketing push Kinect will expand the 360's audience far more than Move will the PS3's.
So Kinect will win.
<...
By looking at retail charts it seems like sales are starting to drop quite sharply, the Move controller isn't even ranking in Amazons top 100 any more since Kinect launched.
I think the initial sales were only from hardcore current owners.
Sounds possible especially when they cut the price, some people will just buy it for menu navigation if its cheap enough.
