It seems like the PS3's bluray capabilities are starting to show their age, its not as future proof as some thought.
"What will people do "IF" Kinect starts to sell and be a success?"
98% of the N4G population will spontaneously combust, should be interesting to watch.
I doubt this will happen they would never be able to keep up with demand so close to christmas, I could see it releasing in Japan at that time but the rest of the world will likely be later.
I wonder how many will actually click the article? He is actually talking about every next gen system not just the PS4.
I think this is a good move, with COD, GT5 and Kinect, LBP would be overshadowed and I'm sure Sony wants to put as much effort into the release of GT5 as possible.
So that would leave just GT5 for the rest of the year on PS3.
@8-bit
Well there was just Reach, Fable 3 next month then there's Kinect with its 15 launch titles. Plus all the multiplatforms obv.
This is great news, this will help Kinect get a large bunch of innovative apps.
And miss out on Kirby and Zelda!? Stupid would be an understatement.
Next gen if MS doesn't use bluray they will likely go with putting a massive harddrive in every console so games will be installed like a PC.
Xbox 720 will be announced in 2012 for 2013 release.
Kinect will ensure the 360 lasts 10 years.
@the two below
Laugh all you want cause you will just end up looking silly when I'm right
@Chris399
Reasoning? Its common sense really. MS won't announce a new console next year cause Kinect would have just been released at it would alienate all the new owners so 2012 will be the earliest.
Well Move wasn't much of a system seller, quite surprised as I've seen a lot of ads for it during the X-factor in UK, so I'm guessing people just don't want a more accurate Wii.
And Halo is once again a system seller, wouldn't surprise me if a similar bump happens with Black Ops, although it will be hard to tell if its Kinect or COD :p
Even with help from Kinect it still didn't manage to sell 1/4ml. And now that all the hardcore crowd has picked it up, sales can only get slower which is likely VERY worrying for Sony.
Can it be used for playing motion controlled racing games? Like Mario Kart or Joyride?
@Nitrowolf2
Thats likely just for head tracking. Have you seen it been played with Move? And if you have how was it played, and if you haven't how do you think it will be played?
Yeah but HOW will you use it as a steering wheel? Im sure you can't cover the ball.
This article pretty much explains why the Wii crowd won't pick up Move.
Wow at Enslaved it could actually be a really solid title.
I think MS actually expects to sell more than 3ml. Like the article said its rare for a company to state estimates with actual figures before the product releases. They have seen the preorders so they must be pretty confident and I'm sure they are going to want to say "Kinect is selling well above expectations".
Not bad? hmmmmmmm.
Personally I didn't have high expectations for Move's sales but 140K is well below what I thought it would sell day 1, I though 250-500K min. It also seems this won't be much of a hardware mover either.
I doubt it will even which 1ml by year end at this rate.
Really!? A game which averaged at 39/100 is a must buy?
I understand there aren't many games for PS3 owners till November but you can't be that desperate....can you.
The main TGS keynote is tomorrow by MS, I'm guessing thats where they will announce it. They did say they are making a Kinect title from an established franchise and would make sense for MS to show it.
Was expected, and a massive hardware boost too. Shame it didn't beat MW2 though.
