To get rid of load times the next gen systems would have to come with and be designed to take advantage of ssd hard drives or they'd have to use ssd cartridges instead of discs...in other words were still going to have load times because the above tech would cost much more money than blu ray discs and regular hard drives...it'd cost them more so it'd cost us more, I don't see them doing that.
What are you talking about.. Mario and Pokemon can't innovate? How bout an open world Pokemon game on consoles with real time ish combat like Ni no Kuni. And Mario.. How bout throw in some realistic graphics and make a mature iteration. I see plenty ways Nintendo could step out the box with all their titles.

Metal Gear Rising is my favorite hack and slash this gen and I've played the bulk of them...Yes even God of War 3 and currently playing Ascension now and still I give Metal Gear Rising my nod as the best because the gameplay just trumps the rest of them. Kinda what I expected after playing Vanquish

It's probably because Japan cares a lot about how something is packaged and presented. Where as most Americans and Europeans just want a good game and really arnt bothered by how things like cover art look.
I find I generally agree with metacritic scores...Some I'd add 5 points or take away 5 points at the most but usually those scores are pretty spot on with my opinion.

They don't ban your ip address.. That's the last thing they would do lol they want you to buy more consoles, an ip address ban wouldn't help at all with that.. So they just console ban and gamer tag ban and hope you buy another to play legit games with.
When dead space came out it easily became king of horror on consoles, there just isn't much competition. Even with the direction they took in 3 it was still better than anything resident evil has done...I can't call resident evil horror.. not one of their games have made me jump, play with the lights on, or poop with the door open, only dead space has accomplished that.
It's Japan? So of course it's going to trail the wii and every other Japanese console. The only American electronic company Japan seems to be fond of is Apple... So unless Apple releases a console American hardware will always do poorly over there.
@kB0 a game installed on a ssd drive (cartridge) is always faster than a game running off disc... And that's without the game being optimized to take advantage of a ssd. If the game industry doesn't go fully digital in the next couple gens I can see the cartridge making a comeback on consoles as ssd drops in price. It's just technically beneficial to gaming in every way compared to current disc formats. I guess some of you look at cartridge like oh that's old school there'...
