GTA is just as mainstream as CoD, or at least was. We really haven't seen a major installment since right after the CoD series picked up steam.

Well Starcraft and Warcraft have had a lot more recent games/expansions than Diablo, and they've focused a lot more of those 2 games. We haven't seen anything Diablo for over a decade.
