Absolutely not.
If you play with followers, they can be memorable. Mjoll, Cicero and Jzzargo are particularly unique to me.
Each faction (Dark Brotherhood, Companions, Thieves' Guild and College of Winterhold) has very memorable lead and supporting characters.
Traders and merchants are memorable, especially when you find out they are cannibals...
Even NPCs you encounter fleetingly are memorable. Maiq the Liar, Headless Ho...
It will just end up like Clash of the Titans.
It was unnecessary this gen, maybe not next gen.
Yep, this one is number 2 on my list, right after Skyrim. Endless hours of multiplayer fun is what it offers!
How is Skyrim broken if I have had 200+ hours of sheer enjoyment on it, encountering say 3 broken side quests (out of god knows how many unbroken ones), and experiencing say 10 instances of the game freezing up (meaning it crashed about once every 20+ hours of gaming)? Skyrim has bugs, but definitely not broken. On the 360 at least.
Definitely GOTY for me despite the bugs, and in a year when Gears 3, Forza 4 and Uncharted 3 were released, that's a real achievement.
@Kthalas
You are looking at the issue from the perspective of your friends who are already gamers who do not game on their phones, but what about the other perspective? Is it unbelievable that many people who bought handhelds were in fact just curious casual gamers? And now there is an alternative for casual gaming, so they don't need to explore a platform dedicated to gaming? If I put a conservative figure of 30% being the percentage of casual gamers who had owned a PSP,...
You are preaching to the deaf and dumb here Jerkstore. They have no grasp of economic realities and no concept of gamers outside the hardcore forming the mass market. I entirely agree with you though. I did in the past consider buying a DS for my sister as a gift to introduce her to casual gaming. I'd get an iPad for her now instead.
Fair review. It is better than a controller, not as good as a steering wheel setup, that sounds about what this was meant to be.
@Dragonknight
And maybe you are just being too forgiving towards the screwed up architecture of a certain platform. Historically and empirically, the evidence is that the platform made things difficult. Too bad so many of you have your heads so deep up Sony's.
It is no surprise that Move failed the most. Copying Wii late in the game simply spelled doom.
You need to update yourself.
I'm surprised why people still make excuses after all this time. If at this point games are still inferior on the PS3, then one really have to start questioning the platform rather than still blame developers.
The greatest games for me this year were released about the last quarter: Gears, Forza, Uncharted, Skyrim, Battlefield, Batman, so I have to disagree with this article.
The problem I have with Uncharted is that it is not just 1 genre of game for me to say it is the best of its kind. Uncharted weaves at least 4 distinct genres together - shooting, platforming, stealth and puzzle solving. That invites comparisons with games specializing in each genre, and without having to go into details, it should be apparent that UC is bested by Gears in shooting, by Assassin's Creed in platforming and stealth and by Zelda in puzzles.
However, that UC i...
There are different ways to engage in unarmed combat, and if there are other guys out there shooting at me, I would NOT rush out of cover and engage in a dance with one guy and expose myself to the others for an extended time. The melee could be done within cover zone, and if you miss the QTE then maybe you are forced out of cover. That, I think, would marry the shooting and melee better. The way it is now, allowing yourself to be engaged in a fist fight in the middle of a fire fight is almo...
ETA 2017?
GOTY should be an outstanding experience for more than 10 hours.
I disagree because I feel GT fanboys are much worse.
Great job on exposing these lying fanboys, Crustified!
Well said.
