I really don't understand this mentality of "if you disagree with me, you are wrong".
Fact of the matter is that what happened was the best for gamers, i.e. there were options depending on what you preferred.
Instead, we now lost that option and revert back to stone age physical discs. I'm saddened by this and hope MS will re-introduce this sooner rather than later.
No, but my friends don't ply *all* their games *247*, so that mine I had practically his entire library for me to access almost any time!

I'm sad Sony fans won and screwed it up for us that wanted a truly next gen featured console, instead we got last-gen console hobbled to physical disc.
I don't care about 24-hour check-in, as I had game sharing and instant access to entire library on any Xbox One.

They constantly compare cloud computing with Gakai, which is not the same. Not even close beyond both being on the internet.
Just remember, Gakai is able to render, then stream HD video of your game to you at supposed almost lag free experience, but cloud computing cannot do anything for your games! ...
Technically it does offer backwards compatibility by plugging in your Xbox 360 into the Xbox One!

The gamesharing is very nice indeed, but I also love the TV and Kinect features.
Voice control is what I use on my Xbox 360 viewing Netflx. I usually scream Xbox, My Pins, Netflix from the bathroom while getting dressed from a shower after a long day of work!
Gakai is still a sinking boat. Where is the business model? Heck where is the product or service?
Point being, there hasn't been traction for cloud based game streaming at all.

First of all, these are the guys that created Call of Duty. Investors will throw money at them just like how EA and Activision tried to court Bungie.
Secondly, if MS invest into to Respawn, they are of course going to expect something back. Isn't it obvious!
Same kind of scenario with Sony. It's business as usual. Nobody gives money for free without expecting something back.
This doesn't sound like a vanilla business relationship, but more of a technology fit.
MS is heavy on cloud infrastructure with a time tested platform out there. It wouldn't surprise me if MS is doing with the cloud what they did with Xbox 360, building a best in class tools.
Personally, I cannot wait for Titanfalls and Quantum Break.
Lending digitally is far superior than physical disc. Here are the benefits:
* instant lending, no physically handing the game to your friend needed. Live across the country, no problem!
* lend to 10 friends instantly
* no scratched disc
* no physical disc to loose
* game collection goes with you wherever you are
* access games without disc
If you are in the field, you know these multipliers are for the most part incorrect anyhow, because it is an overall number.
The real number depend on the actual task at hand.
For instance, the PS3's cell processor is far faster than the Xbox 360, but when utilized in game it was bottlenecked by the bus. So instead it merely became about the same with some tricky optimization. However,, the Cell excel at large computations on small datasets i.e. physics f...

It means you can instantly switch from an Xbox 360 game to a Xbox One game. It also means you get all the benefits of Xbox One multi tasking, including Skype usage, matchmaking in the background and so on.
You can't really do that with a switch, which by the way is a clumsy way of adding inputs to your TV.
