If the majority of a vocal playerbase likes something, wishes something, then I don't see any reason not to implement/change it.
However, I also agree that the developers are getting way too soft regarding how they release games. They release them so you don't have to learn anything. For example, how to control a weapons bullet spread or distance accuracy. It's just straigth forward. Call of Duty has this problem aswell as Battlefield.

Go into CoD4, even one year ago. All you will find is modded servers using ProMod, StarWars Mod or Paintball mod.
You find nearly ZERO original(vanilla) servers playing what Call of Duty 4 was released at.

Has nothing to do with development cost. If anything it's cheaper to develop on a console than a PC due to the minimum amount of hardware it needs to work with and the limited graphics options.
It's Microsoft & Sony taking a percentage of the sale, they make up for this by having an increased price on the games.
I don't understand why they wish to add singleplayer. Every review so far says the the Battlefield 3 singleplayer is horrible, but the multiplayer is fun.

I played Battlefield and enjoy Modern Warfare alot more.
According to Steam Stats it's just as played as CS1.6 being the third most played FPS on PC.
There was overpowered Perks. Wether you remember it or not, Killstreaks were massively good due to the large number of players in each map.
Map design wasn't fitted for the amount of players allowed. You either got a wasteland or a shopping mall of players.
There is a reason the game is modded to hell today. You will hardly find any vanilla servers as they just aren't considered good, anymore.
You won't play Ultra with a single 560GTX.
I for one played WoW and loved the graphics. No, they aren't 2011 justified, neither are they 2009 justified, but they make you feel a part of the Warcraft atmosphere that carried over from Warcraft III.
Bring on Age of Conan, Warhammer, Lord of the Rings: Online, Rift or Aion. Whatever graphics you put in a game with no gameplay, simply won't overtake World of Warcraft. Neither will SW:ToR.
