That is actually a pretty good observation. I wonder if it is heat related. I have usually had it happen after about an hour or so. I do not have an external cooler. I have no idea if the overheating could cause the ROM to malfunction when reading the disc or even cause it to become more sensative to disc defects.
Microsoft makes no mention of this on thier support site. I will mention one thing though, I have played other games that never do this n...

This was posted under multiple systems because the game itself is available on other systems. This is in NO WAY meant to be a knock on the Microsoft console, it is meant to gather information and drum up a conversation amongst gamers that have played the game on all consoles and experienced issues. The idea is maybe there is a solution that is out there that can put this all to rest.

Yea, I hear ya man. I went to Gamestop a few times, but I am not buying the "we don't have any new ones in stock". I think they keep the new ones for new purchases and force users with this issue to exchange their bad copy with a copy that was returned.
Sure thing stevo, and I bet all those "display copies" of the game you try to pass off to angry customers that bring the game back in asking for another copy to try are really just display copies. No, there is no way they are other copies of the game that other frustrated gamers returned due to the same issue most likely.
Really Tom? There are several boards that are dedicated to the disk unreadable error with this game. Just because you and your 80's mustache haven't had the problem doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

True. It is sad really. They are so big if they just put in the effort to do things right instead of relying on superb marketing and hype they would be set for a long time to come. Unfortunately, I think this is the begining of the end for EA Sports. Not just this, like you said, it is everything.
A respectable site? Shows how informed you are. Most of the writers that write reviews on 1up and IGN write for Ripten and other sites as well. At the end of the day one writers review is just that persons opinion. Read the review and don't focus so much on the final score. Find out what you think is fact and what you think is opinion, sort the rest out yourself and decide if the game is worth your time and your money.
