So it wasn’t necessarily declined. I’ve heard some stories about the approval process for crossovers with SE and the issue might have been it was too much going up the chain work.

I love how so many that are well aware of SE saying something didn’t meet expectations always chime in and act like this isn’t routine, or this will be the final nail, despite that sentiment going on for a very long time and it never being anything close to that.

Poorly written characters? You have no ground on this. Are there better written characters? Sure, but they’re far and few between.
There are obviously party members. Even by yourself you control torgal whom can help extend combos or take down flying enemies quickly. You’ll need use of him more so in Ultimaniac mode too. You can even have Jill and Joshua permanently be at your side after some specific side quests.

Most quests are fetch quests from any given game. XVI handles them better than most of them by just having an actual decent story and with many of them being quick. There’s even a skip option with a return to que...
Story, combat and soundtrack were stellar. You also haven't played many games if you think FFXVI has the worst side quests ever.
In other words Rebirth released a full month before this same time period as last year, and some are trying to say that SE sales are declining overall which is false. FFXVI released during this time period last year; Rebirth did not for this year.
The only disaster is this forced narrative

Did any censoring similar to this like say from a third party company or outsourced company happen with BG3, CP2077 and The Witcher 3?
The OG FF7 sold about 14 million up to now, after over 20 years. The Remake sold half of that within 3-4 years. Both Rebirth and Remake will sell much more over time.
Here's a thought: You can SKIP all of those and just focus on the main quest.
There was definitely some BS happening in the staff to not put Rebirth in the top 10.
