what did you expect? they have to be optimistic about their strategies, and a $99 price tag has a psychological edge especially in this Tough times. For those teen in 10-18 the PS2 is a great fit. Cheap, cheaper games, Lots and lots of games (GTA series- the good ones), God of War etc...
Parents looking for cheap gaming will find the PS2 a nice package. I like mine a lot, just because is old it does not mean is not good. The PS2 aged very well, plenty of variety.

The PS3 is just warming up and 360 is running on fumes. Anyone with basic knowledge on the gaming industry realizes that MS has to think about next console or something similar.
Is good to have defining titles across all platforms. Crysis is the PC showcase. Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 are PS3's, and Gears 2 (i think) is 360's

Price drop makes sense for us, but for Sony is better to say: "PS3 $400 and plenty of AAA Exclusives that cant be played elsewhere." Sony is giving a lot of value on the PS3 as it is right now, they will milk this $400 tag price as long as they can justify it by pointing out the great exclusives, great system (reliable), free online, Home, etc...

like Sony is just gonna watch a competitor run away with the industry, come on, one of the reasons Sony is not doing more PSN distribution of full games is because the retailers relationship, and of course bandwidth speed limitations. Onlive has to be available first, then be good,and then prove why is a better option from having the hardware on your hands. I like watching my collection of games, and selling them too, so this digital fantasy is a no go for me.

Love playing SoTC, Ico, God of War 1 + 2, GTA Vice City, GT4,the list goes on. Taking out BC of the PS3 was a sound business idea (PS2 selling good) but it was a slap in the face for gamers. PS2 library is insane and I consider myself lucky to have the 80 gb BC console and after reading all the laments from the PS fans here BC has to comeback!
