GT 5, Uncharted, MGS4 have already show that the PS3 is the real deal.
In 09 the PS3 is going to explode with a library of exclusives compared to nothing we have seen. And IF 3rd parties start to develop with the mindset of using the PS3 First and porting a water down version to the xbox 360,( Yes water Down because there is just no way the 360 can perform on the same level as the PS3, and that is a fact, not an opinion) then 09 will be the year the PS3 set itself for domination.
Sony has made it very clear, they dont consider the PS3 and the X360 as equals. Their mentality is about offering a high end product with blue ray, cell processor, the Sony brand and backed up by the largest game development organization in the world. Its a 7-10 year ride and right now the PS3 is quiet expensive, but its worth every penny. Unlike the X360 that will get to $500 when you add Wi-Fi, 60 gb HD, XBL, and is preety sure to break within the year.

With my Sony PS3 i expect delays,PSN crashes, HOME technical issues, and other software issues,nothing that a few days wont solve.
With my Microsoft Xbox 360, 2nd unit after the lovely RROD, i expect to get my second RROD within the year.
with that said, you can see that there are different ways of unsatisfying the costumer
The PSN is very good for gaming, but the XBL has a better structure for talking with friends (party, private chats, game channel, cross game chatting...). Other than that i find it very difficult to justify the price tag on XBL
it works in their advantage to impress you now with a taste of what is to come, and then Blow you away with the Real Deal in E3 or some big event, besides the game is most likely a year away from being polished and finished.
I expected the water down version, since VGA is not that big of an event, no offense but i think the event is popular because is the ONLY one of its kind. Needless to say, i think the trailer in VGA will be nothing short of Awesome, and the cravings for this...
Sony s making profit out of the PS3
The tendency in the Play Station brand has been to use the newest media format available. PS1 said no to cartridge, CD in. PS2 took DVD And PS3 Blue Ray. its difficult to predict such a thing, but most surely like you said, they will be using whatever is the newest media at the time. Doubt it will be DD only though.

What developers? besides Kojima and Sony, no one has made the effort of taking advantage of blue ray. All they have done are crappy ports from the 360. Mediocre developers can take a hike. the ports should be equally good, what a bunch of lazy people. the new disc will never be taken advantage of, other than Sony (first party) and Kojima that is.

the level that he couldnt finish is on a Preview Code. The point of preview codes is to fix glitches, and for him to criticize the preview code on a public site is very inappropriate and seems bias. The fact that he threatens to give the game a B based on a Preview code glitch is also signs of a biased mindset towards the game that is shaping up to be the as Great as promised.

A preview code should not be criticize as a finished game. An even the preview code of KZ2 deserves a lot of credit, not someone scrapping for defects.
Learn some manners when writing in public, the swearing just makes your comments look empty.
Thierry Nguyen went to the extreme in trying to find flaws in KZ2. To a certain point that is okay, since must reviewers think they are cooler when they criticize a great game for not being the second coming. My problem is that 1up does not seem to supervise that all their editor (or reviewers) are equally extreme in picking up flaws.
