@arbitor and the virtual boy sold badly and far worse than the gamecube so I can't see how you can say the Nintendo only has mass market appeal with handhelds.
It doesn't matter what you think of a console the reality is that consoles only have mass market appeal at certain price points, the wii proved that as have every console ever released when they have reached sub £150.
They haven't fallen that far when sales of mario and sonic at the Olympics sold more than any game on the ps3 exept GT
If Nintendo have any balls they will pay sega to make shenmue exclusive to wi U that would make people like EA take the system seriously if sales picked up
That's because they see a niche market.
The vita isn't well supported because people see figures in financial meeting's but sega have seen an opportunity if they make games that most people want they will sell millions because they don't have much other competition on the vita from other devs.
Sega was one of the few companies to support the wii properly and made massive profits because of it, go and look at the sales of the mario and sonic games it outsold every game on the ps3 e with the exception of GT.
I hope they make the controls semi realistic like moto gp on the xbox and stick with weapons that hit from the side.
@travel guy, not having a bluray drave at all is more likely than not having an hdd, MS wants to sell games online(because you don't have to pay to produce the disks/manual s etc and also MS becames the publisher so they make even more money.
Also theres dlc too.
Anyway MS may still go with dvd and stick everything on the hdd like a pc or maybe even its own version of bluray for piracy reasons and I
I don't disagree with people on here often and I usually explain when I do,
Star wars 2113 was looking really promising and I don't believe any normal company seeing that work they have done wouldn't let them finish the work.
Now EA are involved after scenting a large intellectual property up for grabs may have had a little word with disney
And the way EA has been unsupportive of the wii U, suggests your right.
Now the price is realistic I think they are going to sell really well, it's only £149 in the UK now so they will have the advantage of being about half the price of the ps4/720 and have a good year of extra development time.
Once mario, zelda and the others hit it will fly off the shelves.
Like extermin8tor said but they are aways published exclusively by the platform holder, so bungie own themselves but will be published by a 3rd party or even themselves a bit like EA sports get published by EA but are still 3rd party.
The wii atach games ratio was nearly 9-1 about 0.25% lower than the ps3 the difference is Nintendo made most of the games that sold well so they had higher profit margins.
At the mo Nintendo are going through hardware transitions and like all console makers the money comes in at the end of the life cycle.
What nintendo should have done to discourage these genuine homebrew hackers is to introduce emulators for the snez, nez and n64 and let people download the roms for free but have a yearly charge like xbox live,
Wii U's would fly off the shelves and Nintendo would have regular year subs coming in along with increased software sales.
To me it looks like a 4 player coop game where everyone has different skills and the name fuse suggests that they join together to make one big character a bit like powerrangers
There was only a couple on the wii and they didn't sell that well.
Unlike the wii and its games
On a more serious note if noone is making sports games for the wii U maybe Nintendo could create a sports division for making serious sports games across its platform's to stick two fingers up at EA if they make it good enough they won't need licensed teams.
There is definitely a new Alan wake game coming, if you look at remedy's website they say they are making a next generation console (singular).
And they have just moved into a new place and had Alan Wakes face stencilled onto a window.
Although I would prefer a panza dragoon saga sequel.
I'm expecting one of the big two to announce Shenmue.
There's nothing at all wrong with a niche market one of the first rules of business is to find a market that nobody else has taken advantage of.
But your very wrong about mario and sonic its sold 2million copies more than god of war 3 and 3million more copies then uncharted 2 or 3 just on the wii it sold over 7million.
