And I remember the price of neo geo games too, and the price of something like street fighter 2 turbo on import on the snez.
@manicmayhem while I agree with you that the story could be picked up by anyone (look at mass effect 2 ported to the ps3), I disagree that the xbone and ps4 are practically the same to programme.
Everything on the xbone has to be written in a form of compressed direct X and uses the move engines to make all the registers and has things unique to the gpu that need to be specially programed for
Where as the ps4 uses linux and probably a version of open gl and has to be...
Ryse looked like alot of QTE's and thief looked like it played much better.
I think splinter cell looked a little better than thief though.
But because of the size of the fan they have put in it will definitely be alot quieter it's the trade off you get with airflow.
What if they use kinect at a military base to log into your profile with face recognition, how many versions of a game do you think they would need and would they have to sign them sovthey know who registered to which copy.
I think they are starting to see how they are being seen in public and now are trying to make amends with stopping the things that they started in the first place.
@JackB
I was going to buy driveclub at launch and I don't have a ps3.
So for me it's like getting loads of games for free, can you imagine anyone giving you 12 free games as a preorder bonus.
Even if you only got driveclub I would still think it was worth it as I would be happy to support with the extra money online servers need.
People still pay to use a mobile phone service.
I'm moving across and I have never been a fan of the analogue sticks in the middle.
But its a small price to pay and I'm sure I will get uesd to them.
@neverending
Then you will only be playing offline this gen unless you get a pc and even then I think I think you will be limited to the games you play as companys running expensive servers will be reluctant to do it for free.
Servers cost money to build and run, if your doing cloud storage and running persistent worlds you need to spend alot on servers.
I thought ms was slightly better but nearly £100 cheeper for better tech is a no brainer for me and I can't afford to buy both.
@irepbgtown and neonrider
I think its too much for a console I could build a pc for around the same price with an ssd and buy the games at a cheeper price.
I don't the cage has ever made a sequel.
Fortune favours the brave.
Agreed I was pretty impressed, I'm hoping sony matches that too, great start to what should be the best E3 for years.
Except the price which part was awful apart from the price.
They did nothing but show good looking games.
Any true mgs fan would want to play the best version of the game wether it's on a sony console or not.
Looks a bit cartoony like street fighter which is s shame, I was hopingmore for a mortal kombat style
Overall all I was pretty impressed with most of what MS showed.
I loved shadowrun on the snez that much I've used the name of one of it's characters since.
Hope they have alot of success in making the game Microsoft should have made.
While low level access is not important to pc games, how the new version of direct X is programmed is.
If they go down the hsa route and then ps4/xbone game engines do too then game devs won't spend the time and money to make a version without HSA
Too be slightly fair to MS most of the next gen games at E3 shown would require an internet connection to get the most out of them on both systems and making everyone be always on is the only way you could get the whole cloud computing thing to ever work.
I'm still getting a PS4 instead though just purely based on the gpu rumours/leaks/dev comments.
