@muerte
If RROD has alot to do with hardware sales how do you explain the software attach rate at 11-1 when the ps3 has 9-1.
If it's true what you say then xbox games must buy twice as many games as ps3 gamers
Exactly, EA refused to make game tailored to the wii thinking they could shovel everything from the 360/ps3 and suffered as a consequence
The article actually a pretty good read, and I agree with pretty much all of it.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a next generation exclusive and realease on the 360, PC and PS3.
But you're dead right the new xbox needs alot more new IP's and judging by how many first party studios are working on next generation games they will get them.
I just hope they ain't too kinect focused.
I think by the end of E3 I will have decided which console to buy
I think they need some of the textured vaginas in the trailer from the last light story
This and beyond two souls will not be beaten graphically this gen.
Nice to see they have sorted the trees out.
What's a vagina without a penis.
Maybe someone that isn't a hermaphrodite .

So if MS have as many studio's as sony(which they do google it) but MS leave them all to make next gen game and sony split development between 3 platforms and all 3rd party make games for both who do you think will have the most exclusive games.
It simple maths not bias, if you divided anything by 3 even disproportionately you won't have the same amount as not dividing it at all.
Simple because there's a large userbase to feed on there is more money to be made to use your analergy.
If they used all there first partys to make next generation exclusive games only people would migrate to a new console faster and will encourage more 3rd party exclusives.
Personally I think that console makers should abandon there last/current console and focus all their 1st party's to make games for the new console.
It's difficult to convince 3rd parties to make there biggest budget games solely exclusive to a console with little or no userbase so you have to lead by example.
Mobile gaming is expanding the gaming industry to people who wouldn't have bought a dedicated console and then it makes them think about owning a console.
Saying mobile gaming is ruining the games industry is like saying Disney has ruined the film industry by making casual films.
I wouldn't worry i think that steambox will be a product and a linux distro for everyone with a certain spec pc could download.
I agree completely but this time they have grabbed the next generation with both hands instead of trying to milk this gen, by the looks of it they have built a good game engine early instead of doing it too late and bodging something up that they think will do.
Lets be honest 3 years to release there first game of a gen they would have had dev kits gor a good year plus before the consoles came out too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
It was investment in the this gen that cost them, it took 3 years into the start of the generation to release anything on any of the two consoles (not including the pc port of FF online)and that wad infinite undiscoverey and that was average.
They chose to stick with milking the ps2 and the DS.
Don't believe me look for yourself
And if you look at how this console war has ended it looks like square were right.
Squares biggest mistake was not developing early enough, the article you posted was a whole year after the 360 launched and thats when they will have tried to make the white engine multi platform which I don't think worked.
But if you look at the tech demos they are making for next generation they look well up to speed nice and early instead of just trying to milk this gen and get left behin...
I think square mistakenly think they can sell smartphone games at PSN/xboxarcade prices.
But I think they will be ok looking at there tech demo's for next gen
Ooops its ytd and not financial year your right the wiiU or vita ain't doing that great.
Ha ha I would even dissagreed with myself if I could.
You do realise that this is a yearly sales report and thats a whole year of sales for the vita and the wiiU only came out in November
I agree to some extent but why buy a stusio when you could cherry pick all its best staff for yourself.
But your right nintendo would need more studios in different locals.
Instead of buying studio's maybe buying licensed products that haven't seen the light of day for ages like shenmue, panza dragoon saga, oddworld, breath of fire, and secret of mana.
Secret of mana next generation sequel would be good, zelda style puzzles but with 3 play co-op would freshen up the dungeon puzzles.
Panza dragoon saga (rpg) great game, great battle system, great story.
Head over heals, unique puzzle platform game with 2 characters with unique abilitys that could join together and have both skills.
