Congratulations Sony. If this game has physics/climbing/swinging better than Spiderman 2 Playstation 2 from Treyarch in a modern age they have another elite system seller. Hopefully we get a new superhero games because of it from Superman etc.
Two things were missing for me:
1) Digital buyback/resell program would have been huge. Disappointed that it was an idea kicked around by them and yet nothing has come forward since.
2) Why in 2016 do consoles require a subscription to play online. I understood it was a luxury at first when introduced over a decade ago but shouldn't a subscription service be for advanced perks/features/performance not online access??
What would help is if they made a standard for ps4 base games to all run at 30fps lock like uncharted 4 did but at whatever "native" resolution or quality settings are needed to do so.
However, so far Sony has placed standards for 60fps on NEO with no mention about base model game quality requirements which is worrisome for me as a launch ps4 owner. Seriously Uncharted is smooth as butter in single-player.
E3 this year is going to be huge. If Nintendo nx was involved it would kind of be overkill. 3 possibly new consoles at one show wouldn't help Nintendo launch a new system. I also think they could have a bigger presence at next years e3 with more games and announcements saved for then. It would also allow WiiU owners to have one last show (lackluster but one more)
There is plenty of time before even the holiday season this year to let parents know which system to buy their kid. If they aren't a kid they should know by now too. Expect huge reveals after the big E3 reveals between Sony and Microsoft.
Ditching the cell processor and how radically different it was (and complicated) meant they could focus on creating a new platform on amd. I think ultimately though the ps4 platform was rushed out and we are seeing the ill affects of that now being it was a mid range pc when 4k was already on the horizon and 1080p was a difficult target even on their first party games. @IronThighs I am not basing my guess off nothing. If you been gaming for awhile you know that Nintendo hasn't always released gimmicks or underpowered systems. They have just excelled at making very small games which suits their handheld/wiiu idea great. I am no fanboy. My parents bought my Nintendo NES, SNES and n64. After that I went playstation 1, 2, 3, and 4. Also owned original xbox and always wanted Genesis but my father said can only have one platform lol. Hopefully they win us both back brother. If they don't release the specs that I think though I will just have to wait and see what they can bring because my "hype" your word not mine is on getting something worthwhile and modern not gimmicky.
After seeing the failure of 3d, kinect, move, and possibly VR why would they want to bundle that cost into a system? The thing that helped ps3/ps4 was move is seperate. Could you imagine the failure Xbox One would have if they required Kinect bundled in all systems with that extra cost.

Ok lol wow. It will be at least as powerful as the rumored/leaked NEO GPU and will have most of what I said above in it. The good thing is they are not dividing their loyal fanbase like Sony is doing. Microsoft is in a good position...They can separate a newer upgradable Xbox console as being a PC and ship it with custom Windows OS, allowing original Xbox One gamers the choice of whether to play cross network against PCs or not

Actually it puts them and their current platforms at an advantage by waiting for AMD's Zen. They have stated support of their existing line of handhelds and console. They will have the best console platform in terms of specifications and power unless Microsoft turns the Xbox One platform into a upgradable PC platform
This is very good news. Now we know Nintendo is returning to power and multiplatform NES/SNES days. I expect it to not have any mobile device based on this announcement, especially them stating will be different product and we will still support wiiu and 3ds. We can expect NEO like power without any of the current platform issues. Agree completely. The NEO purchasers will have an edge on ONLINE MULTIPLAYER due to higher framerates if Sony doesn't lock NEO to what the ps4 performs at. It really creates the need for two communities. It definitely divides the userbase in this regards as well as games are much better on the newer playstation. Why would you want same visuals? I do understand wanting the higher frame rate however this makes multiplayer unbalanced.
Essentially this makes the ps4 like playing on PC however without the ability to upgrade your existing product. Capcom should call Resident Evil Biohazard and vice versa in Japan so they could start fresh combining best elements of old games with modern controls, no merchant, new characters with journals telling stories from umbrella/oldcharacters (didn't play 6 so don't know how they would continue it), and they got my money.
Capcom lost control over the series by rushing and making Resident Evil 3: Nemisis the third installment. Resident evil: Code Veronica should have been 3 and it should have been called Resident Evil: Nemisis. This is the game they got off path with. Capcom needs to release Resident Evil 7 soon borrowing what they learn from the re-release of 2 and revelations.
Yes. Re5 forces you to play with a companion that knows nothing about ammo conservation. I would say this was the downfall of the Resident Evil series. 4 had over the shoulder camera, a merchant, and an action button as its differences. It kept the tank controls, weak knife, and everything else yet people still think it was the downfall. I agree Abstract it was best in the series and it was 5 that makes everybody hate 4. I still play 4 occasionally just wish the tank controls could be disable...
I agree with everything you said except games will come out exclusive to NEO. They will come out for ps4 too but they will barely run. PS4 was the worst console purchase in my life if this NEO rumor/leak/whatever is true.
Smartphones have nothing to do with this. I really don't get your comparison. This is one Playstation system that might have revisions but they are all the same on the same network (they don't even play with ps3 units). Having a double power unit is a total game changer.
Well since my PC destroys my ps4 with an old secondhand gtx760 I just play for free on it. Loved how ps3 and ps2 were free. Was expecting Microsoft to turn the tables since Play Anywhere was their push. Maybe they require a subscription to play xbox mobile on Cloud. That is something I'd be willing to pay service
