To me exclusives are just a convenient excuse because we will never have the chance to see what those games might look like on the other console. So it is easy to say it couldn't be done on the other console. But what if it is just those developers' skills that make the game so good and it would look even better on the other console?
But screenshots are of very limited value. Most of the important differences I have found in multiplats is in how they perform. Screenshots will never tell you how they perform.
It's much easier to get art and textures to match up relatively well. ME2 runs better on the 360 and that is the most important difference to me.
I keep hoping devs will wake up and realize that its ok if you have to use slightly less impressive textures, just make sure your ga...
You guys act like an uncapped framerate is a good thing when in reality it just gives the game a jittery, jerky feeling.
I would take a lower, stabler framerate any day over a framerate that is all over the place going from the 20s to 40s. The more solid the framerate the better. The framerate in the 360 build sticks much more closely to 30fps and that gives it a more solid, stable feeling.
Does anybody know at about what time these demos might show up in the store? It usually seems to be a little later in the day right?
TBH that is the one I am looking forward to the most. I love its sci-fi/horror atmosphere reminicent of Aliens or Event Horizon.
I am quite stoked for all three demos.
I want to try LBP2 because the first one was pretty fun and I love the music.
Mass Effect 2 I want to be able to compare it to the 360 edition I already have to see if it is worth buying again.
I want to also compare Dead Space 2 to see which console I will get it for. DS1 was the best horror game ever imo.
The 360 never had a 60% failure rate. Quite spreading that nonsense. Moreover, the 360 S by all accounts is a very reliable machine.
I'm not saying it is the right choice for everybody, but I am glad I own all the current consoles. What pisses me off is when somebody tells me I am wrong or stupid to own a certain console. They arrogantly assume that only their tastes and needs are valid.
@Rebirth
You are a troll, nothing else. I have both games and they are both good. Forza 3 is better in some ways, GT5 is better in some ways. But yes, if I had to pick one I think Forza 3 is just a bit better.
If you don't have any proof that reviewers were paid off then shut your mouth. People could make any claims they want. I could say that the only reason GT5 got 8.5 is because Sony paid off many reviewers and that it would have got a 6.5 otherwi...
Nice comments, bennyace. They are both good games. It just seems that some diehard fanboys are now trying to discount Forza 3 by calling it an arcade racer. It's stupid. Anybody that has played both games and claims that GT5 is a driving simulator but Forza 3 isn't is a fool.
Not really. THe feeling of driving feels better in Forza 3. The sense of speed in GT5 is out of wack, since it feels much slower than it should.
They are both good driving games but I think Forza 3 is just somewhat better.
No it isn't. I like it. I think people are just sick and tired of the sony fanboys talking trash about Forza and making GT to be the god of all games. That is all it is about.
I have been playing both now and I agree with the reviews. Forza 3 is the better game overall.
I don't care what anybody says, I have played them both for myself and GT5 does not look better than Forza 3. I expected it to, but it just doesn't.
No, actually they don't look the same. Forza 3 looks better here without a doubt. I don't see how anybody with eyes can deny it.
I would take the 360s lineup of games this year over the PS3's lineup of games any day.
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell Conviction
Mass Effect 2
Metro 2033
Halo Reach
Fable 3
The PS3 had GOW3 and Heavy Rain and that's basically it as far as games that interested me. Gran Turismo 5 is coming in below expectations and that is about the only PS3 exclusive this holiday.
Excellent comment. We need more people like you, BabyTownFrolics.
I also remember IGN and all the other mainstream sites giving COD MW2 super high scores and then I got the game and was like WTF? That game was way overrated.
I'm sick of IGN and most of the other mainstream sites. They are so unfair to some games and then they always way overrate all the hyped, long standing franchise games. MOH is AT LEAST as good as MW and actually better in some ways.
Hmm...we'll see. Devs often talk up the PS3 before release and then when their game actually comes out we find that the PS3 version still lags behind the 360 version. I remember how the developers of Ghostbusters talked up the PS3 before the game came out and, well, we all know how that turned out.
The advantage of Blu-ray is more capacity, plain and simple. It allows for more content on one disc and in some situations could also allow for less compression to be used. ...
@Astaroth
No it isn't because it is darker. Set the brightness in the menu to be the same on both versions. If you can't see that the 360 version of Dead Space 2 is clearer and sharper then you really need to make an appointment to get your eyes checked.
