Thank god, I thought it was going to be a shoddy port for a while there, i'm very happy I kept my pre-order.

They must be refering to the formerly PC exclusive status of it, but I think the big mistake was not bringing it to PC, now if it comes, it will be a last minute dumbed down port...

You have to question their taste, I remember a few years ago...they had the 'crazy frog ringtone' as the number 1 song...if you don't know what that is, then you're better off not knowing, but if you do, then you know what I mean.

RATM getting the number one spot in any sales chart in the U.K is the best thing to happen in a long time.

Word is that the max power draw for each card is 195watt for the 470 and 225 for the 480, sounds about right to me, I can't wait till they come out so the speculation can end.

The zerg rush they recorded must have been brutal, other benchmarks show that most cpus get close to 60 frames when paired with a 1gb GPU

haha, you f-ing moron, so nvidia got their own benchmarks wrong, but a guy who writes every article about how much he hates nvidia is right?, yeeeeeeeeah

5959d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

actually of the benchmarks they have released the card is at around 40% faster than the 5870 and it's even faster when running DX11.

Any internet requirement sucks, even with steam games i've bought, for example, I had to wait 3 days until steam claimed AVP was released before I could activate it, even though I had my legal retail copy which released on the 17th in aus, and when I finally got on, my steam screwed up and I had to wait to install it even longer, I also just changed ISP so I had to go a week without playing my new game...

Gonna get me a gtx 480, can't wait, i'll finally have that dream 60 frame minimum in all my games, I plan to make this card last me 3 years

That is sad, I have ME2 and AVP, ME2 is a 10/10, AVP is a 6-7/10 at most, I finished it in just over 1 day of casual play...hardly value for money, my aliens and predator nerd fantasy was fulfilled, although barely, and now it shall stay on the bottom of my other far better recent purchases.

Disk size is extremely important, my AVP install is 15 gig, if you had to limit that to 6.8 which is what a 360 disk allows, you have to start chopping things down and textures etc suffer...as does game length, I have no doubt that the sub 10hr campaign trend began as a result of limited disk space on the 360, it is also why we saw the DLC trend begin, it has now passed on to all platforms as a new norm, the poor disk space of the 360 effects everyone in that way.

Not everyone has a good pc though, i'd rather get a more consitent frame rate on the console version than a fluctuating frame rate on the pc version on low settings if I had an older PC.

No argument on the price thing though, here in aus the usual price of games is 99 or 109 for the console versions...I get my pc games online for 79 (physical copies, just delivered, free shipping?, that's a big yes )...$30 a game is a big difference

I think it would be safe to assume that a copy of this on PC will come bundled with my gtx480 video card, seeing as it's nvidias first DX11 collaboration, and supports physx etc.

@green

If it has no multi, in my opinion that is good news, nothing to distract them from the main game, devs always claim that the multiplayer will not detract from the single player portion, but i'm yet to find a game with a decent 15+ hr campaign that also has good multi, it's usually a 1...

I haven't seen the console versions, but the PC version is amazing, awesome lighting, ambient occlusion, physx etc, not many games look half as good.

I bought them both, don't blame me.

EDIT:

I was very happy to hear that Dead Space 2 is coming to PC after all...

Seriously 90% of the game I buy are EA games ( either published or developed ), so I don't know why they're crying poor, I think it's just because Activation is making more, they are willing to sell that last piece of their soul, so the EA CEO and Kotick can get their jelly wrestle on...in money

Surely Guitar Hero would have to be #1, development budget=

100 million

Actual development cost: 1 million
Song licensing costs: 1 million
Distribution costs: 1 million
New Bentleys for every senior manager etc at activision and Harmonix= 97 million
