i don't know much about larabee, i know it's gonna be excellent for people that use what used to be called "integrated graphics" with the whole massively parralel thing going on, but the i9 will be amazing, 50% more cores/threads/ cache.
As with all computer parts you shouldn't upgrade every "generation"
so i will go from C2Q to i9...skipping i7, and i will also go from gtx 280....skipping the 285/295, and get the gt300 series card....but it's har...
i heard there was only going top be one model of i9, do you know how much truth there is to it, wikipedia lists only one possible model, and i haven't found anything to the contrary

i think it would serve sony and microsoft right for not creating ideas for themselves,and trying to copy nintendo to make a quick buck, nintendo at least has stuck to their idea from the start, they have failed in the past, but their goals seem to be changing gaming not pushing a new media format wink wink. ( and microsofts failed attempt HD-DVD)
this sucks, i'm all for moving tech forward, but not it seems that getting a gt300 series card would be premature seeing as pci-e 3.0 will be coming out the next year....why don't they just leave 2.0 for a bit, only the top 10 gpu cards even use all of regular pci-e 16* so pci-e 2.0 won't be overkill for quite a while
