the 'colour bleeding' effects were pretty cool, but overall i expected more, the light seemed pretty 'hard', there wasn't alot of soft ambient lighting etc, just fixed hard lighting and a tiny bit of global illumination, there's not exactly a massive jump from cryengine 2 to 3
There's only one logical explanation for this halt in crytek's phenomenal progress on the tech side....i'm looking at you console's

All the demo's they show are things that ac...
this is a good idea, and would help pc noobs keep up to date with drivers, but i don't see why the windows driver update can't be improved to do this, all it currently does is check if you have a valid nvidia driver, regardless of how old and say yay or nay. You can't beat a good driver sweep and a manual install though to ensure there's no funny buisness with the drivers.
If this helps bring more people to recognise the impulse program or more importantly the great pc devs/publi...
well that's what rare gets for jumping ship at the height of their fame, the same way that it has served square enix in sales for their betrayal of their fan base
EDIT: @ piratethom
I didn't know that, I always thought that rare was a third party but had exclusivity deals with nintendo, but went to M.S...
disregard first statement....i'm an idiot
yep, you play it for 6 months, spend hundreds of dollars on it, only to get perma banned for some b.s and you have nothing to show for it...
"I feel they should have either put in the work or not released it at all. "
That statement should be directed at EA, valve got them to do it as they were supposedly knowledgeable about the ps3's hardware, and they messed it up, once EA had publishing rights to port the ps3 version, it was completely out of their hands, it's not like valve could just un-sign the contract
omfg you've outdone yourself again...you know i think bill hicks must have stolen his material from you, your clever social criticism and intellectual wit always leaves me in stitches
thank god the submitter has been banned, no more spam articles with crap editing (that have already been submitted anyway)
all the traditional handheld controllers are cool, but the current evolution of controllers also know as the motion control fad is taking us to evil places,
my favourite control of all time would have to be the gamecube control, soooo comfy, followed closely by the dual shock 2.
and yet they still made more money than x-box, like i said you dumbass fanboys can talk all you want about sales, maybe you should check the link again, both sony and microsoft are losing money on their console's, so the sales are irrelevant.
microsoft lost so much money on x-box that they pulled the plug after 3 years, bad example there buddy, not only was the gamecube a better console, mine still works, nintendo make good console's regardless of what your thoughts on the softwa...
read it and weep.

sony and microsoft are throwing as much money as they can at their consoles in order to keep them alive, and they are losing money for it, nintendo is here to stay and this proves it, i myself had a wii and traded it as it didn't have enough games to keep m...
Free radical has nothing to do with crysis 2
and yes i know crytek acquired them
gotta love ati's pricing, i've already started saving for a gt300 as i know they'll be around $500-600 aus, damn you nvidia!
fingers crossed that nvidia plays the price game right from the start this time like ati (not like they'll have a choice if they wanna move units)
i'm very interested in seeing what effect the multiplat will have on crysis 2, i was fairly certain that crytek had said crysis 2 would be coming out sooner rather than later in 2010, it can't be long till the video's start rolling out
The interesting dilema they face: showing the pc demo's which make the console's look bad in comparison (and they don't want that as they're marketing to the consoles hardcore), or show the console versions, alienating the entire pc fanbase who wil...
that sucks, how long had you had your ps3?
peter we've seen so much better from you, don't disappoint now, it's never too late for an edit
something tells me that microsoft is behind the sudden media interest in this case to mask the rrod disaster, it's all a little bit suspicious that it would go unmentioned for so long then right when the slim drops with a price cut
microsoft went into damage control, and the best they could come up with is to exaggerate a sony hardware fault which is a rare occurrence, rather than come up with any positive reasons to choose their own hardware

"oh yes, and the more idiot rap music is just fine"
rap sucks too, and so do you, get some real music taste and listen to metal or alternative music
a bit of meshuggah is just what the doctor ordered
you must have missed the part where i said
"the less teenagers there are listening to meaningless music"
because rap falls under that category
My god, it's getting insane now.
They may as well put cameras in my house too, just in case I'm pirating...or maybe just pay someone to stand over me and watch me as a watch tv and use the internet...
it sucks when they remove music due to copyright etc, but warner can keep greenday....the less teenagers there are listening to meaningless music and wearing eyeliner, the better for us all
watch this in HD, educate yourself fool

the writer of the "top 5 graphics engine articles" said that he purposely didn't include cryengine as it would deserve it's own article
@piroh,
whatever little sh!t, every single multiplat looks 1000 times better on pc, keep dreaming
