that's good news for console gamers, the witcher was a great rpg, anyone that hasn't played it should check it out
like i've said before, it's disappointing because early benchmaks suggested that this card would perform almost 50% better ( and as they only perform about 30% better than the gtx285, that wouldn't have been too much to expect)
the gt200 series was more than a 50% gain over the previous gen, as was the 8 series cards, this card has failed to live up to my expectations, if you think a new card, dx11 and all should only be 30% better then I don't know what your basing that on, each...
good article, good to know ati is working on improving their aa situation. Shame that they still can't force 16*aa with a single card though
i never got the 8*ssaa thing though, in nvidia as far as i know you can only turn it on, i don't know how you adjust the level
i'm sure there will be decent gains, but the fact remains that the first benchmarks from a few weeks ago were blatant lies
for a new card, that can't run crysis warhead at 1900*1200 at 4aa, i think it's a let down, i would have thought a 60 frame average with no aa at that resolution would be achievable, will have to wait to see what nvidia has to say about this
"We think a dual-GPU HD 5870 CrossFireX combination may allow at least 2X AA at 2560 with all "...
a bit disappointing again, i really thought these cards would nail the 30frame average at 2560*1600 on enthusiast.
that's awesome, intel is gonna have some major competition this year, especially is the rumors are true about the first 6 core from intel being an 'extreme model' and costing a fortune, also the rumored clocks for it are only 2.4ghz!, of course it could be b.s but you never know, average clock speeds for processors haven't exactly jumped recently (not including overclocks)
I would be very interesting in getting a 6 core amd depending on the benchies, the i7 went either way with b...
I better put the quote here again as you seem to have trouble maintaining your concentration, adhd much??
"Here's an easy way to put it. If you considered Mass Effect to be an RPG, then this is an RPG. "
No where in that sentence does he infer that he played mass effect on PS3, surely play testers have that job because they are avid gamers, it seems to me that he was drawing a comparison between 2 'RPG' games which have a strong action game component, impl...
it seems those earlier benchmarks were slightly embellished
"Crysis Warhead managed an average of 34.5fps"
from what i gather that must be at 1900*1200 very high dx10- no aa,
the earlier benchmarks had me believing that the card would do 43 frames with 4aa at that rez, a major letdown
but i'll need to see more details benchmarks before i pass judgment
What a b.s statement, as was mentioned above, the narrative is what makes the story, the shiny explosions don't even necessarily help the story, they help the realism, but wtf do we have imaginations for, movies are always cheap imitations of much better novels, i know i've played games that have had stories 100 times better than any movie i've watched in recent times
FFX had an amazing story, just because it wasn't 'cinematic' doesn't make the story any worse, i suppose this dev...
"Here's an easy way to put it. If you considered Mass Effect to be an RPG, then this is an RPG. "
I really don't see how you extracted a ps3 version of mass effect from that statement, if i'm wrong i'll eat my own face...yes it is possible
but i think he was just saying that the character progression in that game was very rpg lite
too many mmo's, get back to making rpg's you silly devs
you refer to microsoft as though they are great game developers, they killed off age of empires, they don't have alot going for them in the pc gaming arena, frankly as a pc gamer, i couldn't be happier that microsoft is not publishing games etc.
If your talking about companies porting 360 games to pc, that is not microsofts choice,
but your right about one thing, there aren't enough pc exclusives ( there are alot, but not many to my liking), so i'll take a decent por...
the writer of this article is clearly a deluded m.s fanboy
"It has a sleek ice-blue overlay that's visually elegant and less obtrusive than Steam's "default on" pop-up dialogue boxes"
B.S!
GFWL sucks, after the issues with games like dawn of war 2 requiring both steam and games for windows live, i vowed to no longer buy any game with that affiliation. I hate third party programs, but steam i can handle, i was reluctant to go that rout...
fanboys make baby jesus cry, but they make baby satan smile, and he does have such a lovely smile
sweet, it will be interesting to see whether the 5870's are limited by memory, the benchmarks for the 2gb models will be very interesting, i know i'd be cut if i jumped in and the 2gb had a 20% improvement
noooo!!!
that would be absolute worst timing, wait for the next series, the bechmarks for the gt300's will be insane, the gtx295 scales horribly in sli, even the standard gt300 version ( the equivilant to the gt280 this time) will beat the gtx295,
i have a gtx280 and upgrading now would be a whole lot of money for very little benefit
personally i'm gonna wait for a cpu upgrade for probably a year
i run a q9450 @3.2ghz, so i'm cool on the cpu...
I clearly said that there are more pc gamers. What i said was the console gamers keep claiming there are more console gamers, learn to read.
@kraze07
people that stupid are a danger to themselves, there's nothing funny about it, he appears to not only be illiterate but also unaware of the concept of sarcasm...which will leave him sadly confused for most of his life
sooo close, i can feel crysis trembling...
ahahaha, enjoy your game fools, just be sure not to joke about gold farming, lest kim jong's cronies ban you,
I dare someone to joke about how much better north korea is than south and see if they will ban you
and for that comment you earn a bubble from me
the jive talking robots made me want to hurt myself
