they work by putting slight delays and acoustic effects on the stuff that is supposed to be behind you. Ive got somthing similar and it works pretty well although its no substitute for a full 7.1 system.

The sony 3D solution is relatively new hardware and so can be expected to fall in price as it becomes more popular and easier to manufacture.
All the technology in Kinect has been around for years and despite that it still costs MS $150 to manufacture per unit - i wouldnt expect to see it dropping in price much unless MS is going to sell it at a loss.

Bisping fights strategically, might not always make for exciting knockouts but it gets him wins. GSP dosnt finish fights either but nobody would say he cant.

Any mic can do voice recognition - there is nothing special about the mic in Kinect that lets it do things that cannot be achieved with any standard headset or the mic built into the PSeye.
Voice recognition is purely software based.
