KeenBean45 - You know that famous Miyamoto quote? That applies here.
With a little more assurance from ms, PG would've delivered another great game. Maybe not the game they had originally pitched or envisioned.
PG make fun games that find a niche and very solid following. ms could've had one of those by now.
That's what they need to succeed in Japan - at least to some degree.
bigpiece - nice cherry pick right there. Was that really a PG game? Or was it a project they were hired to do? Big difference.
So the F76 model of gaming is perfect for gamepass - got it. Seems the fear of early access 1st party filler going to gamepass might be true after all.
I have a fair idea why it was cancelled - it doesn't make sense when your trying to push into market you've notoriously struggled in.
At least Stadia won't be lonely anymore. The environments these streaming services have been tested under aren't real world, they can't possibly ensure 'every' gamer will have the same experience.
Funny you mentioned Scalebound - it got cancelled by Phil because he didn't have faith in PG.
PG is a studio with a stellar record over this generation, yet somehow ms have faith in the company that gave the world F76.
If that isn't a reflection on ms inability to pick the right horse - I don't now what is.
What if - they could - they should - wait until - all part an xbox launch and console generation.
What they 'should' do is actually look into their own backyard and nurture what they have.
After the 343i debacle, which is one of their premier studios - I wouldn't have confidence in any team under ms.
Thats where all their effort needs to be.
Nope - if anything that would cause even more resentment towards xbox
I agree - I was poking fun at the fact that ms was spouting off about Ray-Tracing and that their premier series was going to have it patched in after release.
There's only one manufacturer though - just like the 360 HDD. The point I was making is that the prices won't go down unless ms or Seagate decide they will.
What's this 3rd party market you speak of? These are proprietary products - only made by 1 manufacturer.
Is that pic from the PC version? Jk
If they can get halo anywhere near that - they'd be doing ok. The delay needs to be worth it and raytracing should be there day 1.
I can see that, if this series of consoles fail to compete - they might just push xcloud and gamepass onto as many platforms that will allow it.
But that's a BIG 'IF'.
I think it means xbox gamers will be beta testers for PS5. The acquisition wasn't a very smart one - Bethesda have some of the worst practices in the industry. Still can't get over F76 - how can that even happen?
darth & njitram - Sony will make a list of compatible drives, there may be a Sony branded one - but it's not necessary to buy that particular one. Much like the Seagate drives available for PS4.
The reason they'll come down in price faster is because of attachment rate.
The console isn't even out yet - I'd be more worried about ms not showing any games running on xsx.
littletad - It just seems, and not just to me - Sony can do no right. Anything can be perceived as a negative is pushed in that direction at full speed - ad nauseam too.
How many BS rumours have been debunked since the announcement of PS5?
Is ms still putting FTP and VOD services behind a paywall? - No articles.
Is xsx the first console in history not to release with 1st party launch titles? - No articles.
Why hasn't ms sho...
The expansion card is $359 in Aus, PS5 drives will likely be the same but will go down in price quicker.
That's the benefit of not going proprietary.
Such a shame they didn't show more at the last event. It must be shaping up nicely for Sony to put it in their back pocket.
It's staggeringly good, apart from the big hitters there's Returnal, Kena and any other surprises Sony has on store.
It's more than that in Japan. But it really does matter - purely from the standpoint of 3rd parties willing to put their games on your platform 1st.
It's actually very important.
