Buying something for $7.5 BN doesn't make it a sound purchase - in fact I'll say it's the opposite. Off the shelf NVME SSD, they just need to be compatible with PS5 - which none are at the moment.
If you just want extra storage ANY external HDD or SSD will work and you can run PS4 games from there. And transfer PS5 games to the internal SSD if you so choose.

Dark was more accessible than Demons, it was made on newer hardware and already had a foundation to build upon.
Bluepoint have stated It's more just a visual overhaul, there's a lot of quality of life improvements as well.
