I didn't even kill for my first few hours... questing was leveling me up just wandering around oggling over everything. I've been playing the last 3 weekends on ps3 and I'm having withdrawls without it. Can't wait until it's no longer a weekend only thing.
I've been wondering when the weekends only bit was going away. I can never find much on the Beta forums about the future schedule.

Thanks for the advice. Had the Lvl 15 Battle not stumped me (THM) for so long I might have gotten to 20 and the dungeons. I cannot wait for this upcoming weekend. And, yes, I can't find anywhere that sells gear for 17-19... then suddenly lvl 20+ gearsellers are everwhere, lol. Thanks for the advice, I'll just hold off buying gear and get into the dungeons when the servers open for us again.
Yeah, I almost considered taking a few Fridays off since the beta closes so early on Sunday.
The structure of lvl'n doesn't lend itself to this. Just like with FFxi, you can have one character be EVERY build. There are only three reasons I'd want another character so far that I can tell with the Beta:
1 - Have a different look (ie race/name/etc)
2 - Play with RL friends on multiple servers
3 - Mules... and I'm not even sure they will be needed for FFxiv because space is not limiting.

Unless of course you go for the CE.. then you you're looking at $80. Which is merely an option.
Pretty decent overview. Pretty good read for anyone just joining the Beta. Only bad part about it for me is that it MADE ME WANT TO PLAY RIGHT NOW.. and I'm stuck at work for a few hours. 'course I don't even know the servers are flipped on.

I can't wait until the Beta servers start up again for the weekend. I've had such a good time the last two weekends. It's going to be so nice when we are in the testing phase where it's up and running (mostly) 24/7.
The beta forums are such a convoluted mess of overinformation, I have no idea when that will be, lol.
I didn't think these were called achievements... I thought the event-type rewards had some other name and only games had 'achievements "worth" points.
Anyway... saw this coming. Lame.
I think I'm going to go with this order:
8 > 7 > 9 ... then I'll be in a quandery again or so immersed in FFxiv that it will be a non-issue.
I totally forgot but I gave FF7 a go on my PSP a long time ago. I didn't get as far as you because I felt kinda the same way about not knowing the next step.
It really seems that way so far. I hadn't gotten far enough to get to the team-focused content but from what I've been reading, it's going to be a lot easier to find groups than FFxi's way that was similar to picking teammates for dodgeball in P.E.
2 weekends in the Beta so far and I'm absolutely hooked.

I doubt they need much PR. I think this has very little to do with the actress or the devs. It's no-name websites insighting drama that isn't really there so their site can get hits.
I loved Journey. Simply, it was brilliant. Probably one of the best gaming experiences I've had. Very memorable. I'm incredibly happy this dev is finally seeing profit for this endeavor. I would have hoped Journey would have turned a profit sooner.
I just started playing flOw and Flower. They didn't resonate with me as much as Journey.
