Sony went through a rough patch but around PlayStation 1 and Playstation 2 days they could have bought any publisher because they had the money to. They had shares in square enix which they sold back two square enix
Ms can't compete on a level playing field so they started to flex their muscles when it comes to money

I like the fact they are upfront about it and are being transparent. Contrary to popular belief developers don't work on the games till last day instead they have to send them in to be certified usually 4 to 6 weeks before release from what I understand
That's why we are getting a lot of big day one updates because once it's been sent to be certified they're testing and finding any bugs and glitches and trying to include those fixes in a day one patch

that was on capcom more than sony since capcom didn't want to fund SF5 development for whatever weird reason. also MS has in the past paid to make games exclusive to their platforms too. We are talking about a publisher being bought for 70 billion vs paying for a game to be exclusive

Also the reason I am against this deal because the reaction to this from Sony might mean they will try to buy square, Capcom Sega etc

As a gamer I hope this deal doesn't go through. I don't want anyone to buy these publishers because these publishers don't need a bailout. There are enough smaller independent studios who need more resources

Yeah sure they patched the crap out of it because it launched in a crappy condition. They could have delayed the console versions and showed actual game footage before launch

I own a XSX and so far it's been very underwhelming. This whole generation has been the promise of what's to come yet here we are still waiting
Ratchet and clank was the first true next generation game. But we are seeing that moving forward the last console will be supported a while. Technology is similar going from ps4-ps5 and same for Xbox that's why I guess developers can scale their games much more easily

That's how it all started with horse armor, which turned into online passes, and now everything we use to unlock while playing has been turned into micro transactions
Cheat codes went away because there is a market of casuals who are willing to pay. It use to be if a game was hard just enter cheat codes and enjoy but now the games have been made so grindy that publishers know their game progress is slow so they are selling XP boosters

Let's stop acting like everyone is a PC gamer. Most console gamers don't own a gaming PC. Yes hardcore gamers may own a gaming PC and consoles but vast majority is still the casuals buying platforms to play just few games a year
