Japan has its own unique thing they should stick to their style of games. When those publishers chase western trend they tend to not have much success
Yakuza is a clear example of that I think it was ahead of it's time until Yakuza 0 really gave the franchise the boost it need and brought awareness

those are popular everywhere. a better example is american car companies and how little impact they have on that market. TBH i don't think ms should even worry about japan that's a lost cause spend those resources elsewhere
they don't want facts they want to believe what they want. sony supported BC with ps3 and the data showed such little amount of gamers used it that removing it saved them money and made the console cheaper
BTW even to this day every ps3 can play ps1 games even if you have ps3 slim

no strong rumors have it sony japan are hard at work on reboot for SH with original game director, composer etc
Ps5 will play all PS4 games out of the box and overtime sony and it's partners will patch up some of the games to make them look and play better
Xbox fans and Ms itself are so desperate that anytime Sony release any information they go overboard with PR spins. Just wait if June 3rd is when Sony shows a lot of gameplay Ms will freak out and we will see negative comments in every article

exclusives sell it's simple as that. Look at FF7 remake it helped sell a lot of consoles in japan alone along with world wide plus the software sales. when someone buys the hardware they will off course buy games but now a days these companies have subscriptions so its' an ongoing transaction. I think both ms and sony will go after huge 3rd party exclusives(timed exclusives)

This isn't rocket science make games that media praises and gamers want to play and the system will sell but by than mandating to their developers that they must support Series X, Xbox X along with Xbox One I don't think those developers can truly take advantage of next generation specs and the power

I agree but I think they should give them the freedom to make games on the platforms that they want. Instead of forcing all of them to support everything from Xbox one go Xbox series x do have some games which are only available on series x
