that's what kojima tried to do with MGS5 and longtime series fans weren't happy. We knew what MGS was and about it's long cut scenes much rather have a focused story than all over the place game without any ending. IF you have loyal fanbse stick to that because like you said trying to appease to everyone doesn't work

While that's true if fans don't provide the feedback series will not try to be fresh and reinvent with each release
FC3 was the best to many while FC2 was the most intriguing maybe not a hard reboot but try something different like they did with blood dragon
With 2 hours event I think we can expect some major reveals
Hopefully filled with games reveals and gameplay show us next gen
And please update some of the older titles with better graphics and performance and little to no loading
This is such a great game it's hard to believe that a studio went from making FPS games to open world RPG and it turned out to be so good on their first try

Sure not like this took over 3 years to come but next which will be a system seller will be made available elsewhere
Sony's business is to sell their hardware. this release is not hurting Sony it's actually helping them because this game is always on sale for like 10 to $15 so on PC they can charge full price again or close to full price again and make all that money

GG have 2 separate teams one is doing a shooter of sort sort and the other is doing horizon 2. Horizon 2 would be easier since they will be doing a sequel so many assets can be re-used(they don't have to start from scratch) and by the time ps5 comes out HZD will be over 3.5 years old which is plenty of time for a sequel(especially as GG hired more developers and grew) IMO we will see gameplay for horizon2

i think we will see some huge blockbuster AAA exclusives from 1st,2nd and 3rd parties. Sony will fund games publishers aren't willing to take a chance on. Imagine a dead space reboot and silent hill reboot announced at the same conference

we don't have long to go so we will see what ps5 is capable of. Sony's first party studios are on another level(not all but many) Just look at the TLOU2 and ghost they look stunning running on ps4 and horizon when it came out looked amazing for bring on ps4. Now imagine what horizon 2 could look/play like and the biggest issues with HZD(IMO) were the long loading screens so those could be gone to make the experience seamless

That could be smart and than at their August event they can focus on games coming within the first 12-24 months
I think sony may show fewer games but they will drive home the point all their game reveals will come with gameplay
I won't mind a teaser or 2 but horizon will get gameplay and I don't think you can call it HZD so it has to be named horizon 2 or horizon and subtext
Can't wait to see what sony will showcase at the event. GT and demon souls are pretty much confirmed
