I think you have a legit point Ms rather their games be playable everywhere and selling a box isn't important to them but selling Xbox live and gamepass memberships are important to them and those can only truly succeed if you have your own hardware

whole purpose of new consoles should be that games are possible on them which are not possible only last generation consoles. there is absolutely no way a game that is built for ground up for PlayStation 5 or Xbox series X should be able to run on last year and consoles how is that even possible when we have to take into effect the SSD the stronger GPUs and CPUs. true and i still have my ps3. Some games like MGS4/MGS HD collection, castlevania lords of shadow etc would be nice to be able to play on ps5(atleast good thing is ps4 controllers are not compatible with ps3 so even playing on ps3 isn't a bad option) you are right many games have received HD remasters but just announcing that feature i think will garner a lot of gamers happiness
it seems only way some can enjoy their hobby is if their favorite brands are doing better than the competition. i do wonder when some of n4g users actually play games because they are here all the time(including myself and i don't play that often i don't know kind of feeling burned out)

please set your expectations lower because neither console will be able to do 4k/60FPS on major AAA games. Now ehen it comes to shooters yes maybe companies will focus on higher FPS and have 1800P or 1440P
next gen consoles should give us the gamers to pick and choose if we want to play in graphical mode or performance

Horizon 2 and demon souls pretty much will be shown even industry insides like jason have pretty much confirmed demon souls remake. HZD was released on february 28, 2017 and let's say ps5 is november this gave them over 3 and half years to work on sequel(sequels are usually made faster since so much of the new IP assets and work is done and they can carry on building from that instead of starting from scratch)

since we are on this topic more than 4000 ps4 games will work on ps5. Sony/cerny said they tested the top 100 most played to see what sort of boost they would get on ps5. Many developers may release patches for their games to make them run better on next gen consoles. I just hope neither sony/ms pay for timed exclusive patches(yes this could become a nasty thing...

PC is great no doubt about it but out of ps4, xbox one and switch owners combined how many actually own a gaming pc? that would be a very interesting stat. I think personally taking a guess many who own a ps4/switch may own a gaming pc too since they can play all the pc titles along with xbox titles
