Just waiting for the Kingdom Hearts game to release, and the second it does I will have a 3DS.
On that note, I think a lot of people are in a similar mindset, they are either waiting for "that" game such as Metal Gear 3 for example, or the inevitable redesign model. I dont think its in trouble / failing, I just think maybe it released a bit too early... Actually this deserves use of the overused term, "rushed".
I was and still am, very tempted to buy one.
And I am primarily a PlayStation gamer, not a fan boy just that I grew up with them and am therefore most comfortable with their layouts and stuff.
But the great thing about growing up with PlayStation is that all these 3D re releases on the 3DS are in essence, entirely new games to me. Which is more than can be said for the PSP which was pretty much ports of games I had been playing for years before.
To be fair, it was terrible on the PSP too. But if it can play KillZone 3 via RP then I am sold already.
The concept behind remote play is great, its just so unfortunate that (at least from my experience) it is not quite realised.
It lags, things take a while to load at times (though at others its a lot quicker 0.o) also the internet browser is limited as it of course just uses the same one from the PS3 XMB which is outdated.
But if it is improved eno...

Anyway, I disagree.The price point WAS the biggest barrier, but now it has been revealed and its reasonable, in my opinion. I mean its about the same or slightly more than the price of a PS3. Remembering that the PS3 was £500 when it released, £280 (which I think is the 3G model) is really not that bad.

It ended the plot, but that does not mean it ended the entire franchise. There are still MGS games coming out, even though MGS4 ended the story after all.
Hmmm I dunno, I would not say it needed more puzzles, just a bit more complexity. The puzzles seem to wind up being slightly tricky platforming / climbing and then do not require any thought at all to actually work out what you need to do.
Agreed. The only think stopping me buying this is that it is not 32". Granted that it looks like something for bedrooms and stuff, but even then a 32" is just about right in nearly all circumstances.
Or maybe if it is a success they will in fact market different sizes of it. Hope so anyway, because that splitscreen trick it has is pretty nice if developers actually will be using it.
Agreed. The good thing about Platinum having control over the development (and if Bayonetta was anything to go by, they know how to make a good fun over the top action game)is that it will not affect Kojima and his team from developing a proper Metal Gear title... Should they choose to do so, that is.
EDIT - On another note, I do hope this one has a good plot to match the crazy action. Because that is another thing that makes an MGS game an MGS game IMO. Okay the gameplay is...
Its not even for members anyway. All they are doing is giving away some stuff that has already been available so people who missed them (new subscribers)have a chance to do so.
Not complaining, but I can see why so many Europeans were moaning about it on the PS blog if they already had plus ages ago...
When you listed it as "Metal Gear Solid HD Game" I almost thought you meant the original MGS in HD.
But that does look like a much nicer set, I mean if you really want to get MGS, you can download it off the store anyway and it costs very little if you can afford the ultimate edition anyway. The artbook is actually an exclusive thing, I would rather have that over the original MGS in itself.

Pre release DLC would be having DLC there before the game is out, this would be post release DLC.
I am not "looking forward to it" as such, but as a big MGS fan I will buy it obligatorily, me and millions of other people, and that is what will lead to MGS5 eventually being made.
And BTW, its hardly "milking" when MGS4 came out years ago now is it?
Edit and just because MGS4 ended the story, does not mean there are not a ton of areas of the story left to explore.
