I would rate Nintendo over MS too. How many great (or even good) exclusives did MS have this year?
Was Gears:Judgement the best one?
I think that the ratings are pretty good overall (Nintendo is a bit high)
@MWong:
I don't think that you can say you're not being a fanboy, then immediately spell Microsoft with a $, and then praise sony while ripping on MS.
I guess they could slightly tweak settings (accuracy/damage/recoil/even sound) to make them feel slightly different. Maybe they could do something cool with secondary fire
I think its really fun. Thats all that matters to me
@gnothe
I have a problem with them buying 3rd party exclusives because they are effectively paying money to keep gamers from playing a game that already exists. I would much rather they spend that money to create something new
Investing in 1st party studios is more of a risk, but its much better for the industry
Wow this sounds pretty good. I am a bit curious about the classic weapons. The game is really balanced as is, hope they don't do anything to ruin that.
I hope that they start making killer exclusives, but I have a feeling they are going to use their deep pockets to secure exclusive rights to good 3rd party games instead(titanfall)
Edit: And no, xbone sales have been nowhere close to a disaster so far
This is about the ps4, not the xbone
Edit @ below: I see. I have only been in a target or walmart a handful of times in the past few years so I wouldn't know. They have xbones available online but no ps4's (hence my confusion)
Ive been having fun with trine2 too
Maybe you can help me understand all the hype surrounding black tusks' game. It looks like MS is throwing a ton of money at them, but I've never heard of the studio. What have they (black tusk/MS Vancouver) made?
What info do we have on the upcoming game?
Its nice having multiple pre set options, but I've never understood why more games don't let you map your own buttons. Seems like it would be easy to include.
I'm also really surprised how little we know about this game. I think we've only seen one map (maybe two) and very few weapons. Maybe they are taking the GTA route of not releasing any info until right before launch (certainly got people hyped for GTAV)
I get your reasoning, but I don't see how Kinect2.0 can do things that Kincet360 (or pseye) couldn't. How does its increased fidelity lead to compelling uses?
MS abandoned their "traditional" first party games in favor of Kinect based games a few years ago and still haven't come up with anything great (or even good). So despite dumping a ton of time and money into it, we still have tacked on gimmicks that don't make use of its power.
@Lukas:
You forgot the forced Kinect inclusion
I think I remember hearing that the game will be less then 60 bucks if you have the free ps+ version.
I see no reason to think that it will be loaded down with microtransactions. Apparently GT6 has microtransactions, but I have yet to see them and I've been playing it quite a bit. It sounds like the problem with forza was not that it had MTs, but that it was 60 bucks and they gimped the economy and kept trying to shove them down your throat. Neither of these are a pro...
All good points, and I would like to reiterate that I think it was a good call to delay it and get it perfect. I would also like to point out that I have been playing GT6 since early December. I don't have much desire to play another racing game anyway.
It may appear that driveclubs absence didn't hurt ps4 sales (it sounds like its pretty much sold out everywhere), but it may have helped xbone sales. People may have been swayed by a visually impressive "sim&...
This is somewhat debatable. It will certainly result in a better game overall, but it did weaken their launch lineup. I am glad they delayed it, but I can see why some people would have wanted them to rush it out for launch.
I agree. Actually, the footage I have seen recently has been more impressive then forza, even if its not 60fps (Much more detailed environments).
I really hope they have g27 support. I'm not entirely sure this game would be great with a wheel, but I want assurances the ps4 supports it before I invest in a quality stand.
All I can say is wow if true.....Thats pretty shocking
I think that the problem was that they weren't ready to launch the console. I really dislike the two things that set the xbone apart: the Kinect and the always online requirement(the power of the cloud). I dislike them because they haven't shown me anything.
You know what would have been better than doing away with always online requirement? Showing me why I would want it! Maybe if they launched next year they would have a clear example of how the cloud can improv...
@Mister_Dawg
You're argument makes no sense.
First of all, I agree that Ps3 ended up having better exclusives then 360. But I don't see how you can claim that these exclusives did nothing to help ps3 sales. The 360 had an early lead based on launching earlier,being cheaper, and having great early exclusives (gears,PGR,etc). Over time 360 stopped having great exclusives and the ps3 caught up and overtook it (based primarily on the strength of their...
