I agree with most of your post, but unfortunately they can rest on their laurels because they put out the only hockey game.
I think that next gen games will have much better graphics+more animations. Hopefully they improve the AI too

It actually reminds me a lot of the xmen. Maybe the mutants aren't inherently aggressive/evil, but have been forced to conflict with "normal" humans after centuries of oppression. I hope SSM doesn't just make them mindless beasts.
Also, there has been talk about a big focus on the melee combat in this......it would be cool if you could play as a beast (warewolf) at some point.

I am shocked that this series is still going strong. I enjoyed the 2nd? one on ps2? (so long ago I cant remember), but picked one up for the 360 and the x axis was reversed...never could get used to it. Have they fixed that yet?
If so maybe I'll look into this if it comes here

Theres ps4 gameplay out there that looks pretty good. Why is it so important that it looks better then on xbone?
I have a super reflective Panasonic plasma myself, so I was worried about this too, but honestly haven't really noticed it. Maybe I hold my controller at an angle that isn't pointing directly at the screen? Either way, the light is pointless and only serves to drain the battery in my opinion.

I agree with this and would attribute your lack of interest to depression. I've been there myself, and this was the worst part. Nothing brings you happiness or comfort when you're depressed. It sucks even more when you know that you should be enjoying something but your not, it makes you wonder if you'll ever find anything that makes you happy again.
The good news is that it is a temporary state. Things will never go back to what they were. You may only enjoy...
I guess I haven't heard, but this looks very much like Dead Island, which did have upgradable skills.
I think the trailer released this week had the player leveling up, which may imply upgradable abilities

MS spends money to prevent a percentage of the gaming population from playing a game that looks really good (titanfall)
Sony invests money to create exclusives that would not otherwise exist. Their investment allows studios (PD/team ico) the time and security needed to create great games.
I think its a currency of some sort.....maybe?
