Many green screens of death are just installation windows that lasts for minutes. Impatient people freaking out thinking it's crashed. Just do something and come back a few minutes later.
You can't go by forum traffic to see what percentage is having an issue. Sony said they had 800 people on their phone help line queue with problems. 800 sounds like a lot, but in reality that still equates 0.4% failure. "Everyone" on xBoxs forum having issues is a knee...
Internet makes things bigger than it really is, 20 person has an issue and everyone knows about it now. Out of a thousands and thousands of working units, some people will only see that those 20 people is the majority. I can send you hours and hours of videos of working xBox Ones if you want.
Try making 1 million of anything and get 100% perfect product, never will happen with ANY company. Try making 1 million of anything by that, logistics alone will give you nightmares
There's tons of gameplay videos online, complaining that this single video doesn't show gameplay is lazy on your part. Tons of hardcore fighters has been saying this is a solid fighter, all the reviews giving it a solid score, etc.
It's free for a single character with a rotating roster. $5 extra for each character. $20 gets you all the characters. $40 for extras including the original KI games.
Unneeded, much like how vibrating controllers are. When used properly, it can be a create a more immersible experience, much like how vibrating controllers are.
These polls are never reliable to actual figures. Mainly because the target audience where these polls are hosted and aren't 100% of the market. Not everyone that plays games go to places like IGN or any gaming website. Those polls from gaming websites will be more skewed towards a certain level of gamers, but not all 100% of the gaming market.
1.2 million units @ $500 is $6 billion dollars. Makes me wish I fail more often like that!
I work for a company that sells a few million products a year, the logitics alone is a nightmare. Kudos to ANY company that can supply that many products in a year, let alone in 24 hours.
It doesn't matter what the numbers are, if they sold 50 million people will still comment, "only 50 million and not 60 million, they will definitely fail."
Have you seen videos of them next to each other. You still need a larger room to use the PS Eye. You can play fairly close to the Kinect and still be able to see more of you compared to the same distance with the PS Eye.
Having 2 cameras isn't the same thing as having twice the resolution. It only gives the software better calculations to perceive depth of objects, NOT make objects twice the resolution.
Besides the case, the software for Kinect is supe...
Most are subtle uses. Tilt your head to peak around the corner. Push the joystick forward to get rid of zombies attacking you. It's pretty much additional subtle touches, the small things, that can make games more immersive; no different on how a vibrating controller used to be when it was new technology and now it's common practice.
While the PS Camera has a low F stop to pick up low light situations, Kinect 2 has active IR which picks up things in complete darkness. Though being able to see in low light is good, it's definitely not as great as complete darkness. Not saying the Camera isn't great still. But it just doesn't hold a candle over Kinect 2's software and hardware.
Go about 1:00 mark:

Having a low F stop is not the same as being able to see in complete darkness. You still need some light for it to see. Actice IR sensors can see in COMPLETE darkness.

forward to 1:00 mark for the lighting demo
Nobody was denying that the PS4 can (for now) put out more pixels than the Xbox. Why do people really think the PS Camera is on par with the Ki...
Not true considering most of the video showed voice commands accuracy; the software behind Kinect is far superior over Sony's. Also I don't think Sony's can see in complete darkness. The picture showed the player larger on Sony's vs Kinect's field of view; meaning you can use Kinect in much smaller rooms than Sony can. That in itself was a huge problem over the original Kinect, not everyone has a large living room.
Sure, technically the Kinect 2 is free as it doesn't cost you anything extra from buying the console. The PS Camera is $60.
I know people will complain saying that's not true. So let's go with scenario 2: $100 for the Kinect 2 and $60 for PS Camera. PS camera is optional so support will be very limited, much like how the 1st Kinect was. So the Kinect 2 will still give you more bang for your buck at $100 as it's fully integrated within the OS and many man...
I doubt the same file would be hosted on 300k servers though, no website has that kind of redundancy backup servers. Let's hope there is no major problems still on day one since I'll be waiting all day at work hoping mine came in the mail. If not it'll be a long weekend for me...
Hey, if it's on a website it must be legit. Hmm, everyone has a website now...
"If they only do 1.2 mil worldwide than that is not a good sign."
Most naive comment ever. How many companies, let alone tech companies, can even handle this number of sales in 24 hours? People think they know everything.
Does it really matter who sells the most? Having a choice on 2 good products is a luxury. Imagine if we only have 1 choice, how much and what progression and how long would that 1 product take for the next generation? Would be the worst thing for console gamers. Competition keeps all companies on their toes to keep things innovative as inexpensive as possible.
You're just here to troll, if you don't like MS then why click on an MS article? Who cares what stangers think on your choice, and why should you care what choice strangers make. Unless you need to reassurance of you own personal opinions that only strangers' like-minded opinions make you feel you're part or a "winning" group. In the end it's an entertainment device, it won't change the world so just enjoy having the luxury of a choice of various entertain...
Guess people can't handle that their preference isn't everyone else's preference. Some just needs verification from strangers that they are correct; it's a sad world this is becoming...
Go to any forum or site, it's well documented there. Some green screens stay for 5 minutes, some for 45 minutes. Though probably not all goes away, maybe people get paranoid and impatient and automatically think the worse. I'm sure I would too if it stays like that for an hour though.
They should have a spinning icon or something so at least people know it's "thinking" instead of a static image.
