@cleft5, there's an interview where they were explaining the points system. Killing an AI is the minimal points, say 1pt. Killing a player is like 7pt or something, and a Titan was like 15pts. Can't really remember the exact points but you get the idea.
They can easily adjust K/D ratio by having it just record player K/D and a secondary overall K/D. Not sure what they're plan is but it can be easily figured out.
Virtual servers still need physical hardware for them to exist. I can setup a physical PC server locally and have it setup as various servers for online use. EVERYTHING on the website is hosted physically by a server on a hard drive somewhere. To dumb it down, when you log into a system online, that's a virtual server. It's not a fake made up algorithm that only exists in a program. If it's as simple as writing a program to create a server, wouldn't they have 10 billion s...
Cloud computing has been standard practice for small to medium sized animation firms (larger firms typically have local server farms) for many years now. Upload a scene to a server farm, what would take a weekend to do locally on 1 PC the farm can handle in 10 minutes.
Real-time rendering, the cloud won't be able to do much without DRASTIC internet speed improvements. Making pre-executions of upcoming scenes (pre-render, pre-buffer, etc) I can see the cloud being the st...
Good to hear the PSN is better. I almost got the PSN but preferred exclusives swayed me to MS. Eventually I may consider a PS4 if there's enough must-have games down the line.
Not everyone will enjoy a product. That's opinion and people should know that one's opinion, even if they have an online video blog, is still an opinion.
Both are great consoles. People should respect both as it only means great things to console gaming in general. T...
Same computing engine but slightly less graphical engine, people seem to exaggerate saying PS is more powerful, but make sure you know it's graphical power and both use the same CPU. That said, both have issues at launch. Xbox has less pixels, PS4 has bad frame rates on the same games. Pick your poison. Both can be fixed with future patches and with more development experience for these 2 consoles.
As people mentioned above, don't go by the people's opinions h...
"OMG, XBox sucks because of the interface." Meanwhile everyone's quiet on the even worse UI from PS4 only because they want to complain about MS.
Saying one system is sucks because it cost more is poor logic. It's like saying "Porsche sucks because it costs more than a Toyota". Price has nothing to do with performance.
by that logic, gotta love Knack...
It's a good OPTION. Even better than the PS Camera
Yay, some places is not the same as all places. Internet makes it seem a one area represents the entire world.
Also places gets shipment in almost daily. A currently stocked product does not mean it's been sitting there for days/weeks; it could have just received that morning.
Don't forget businesses gets shipment in almost daily. If there's some in stock does not necessarily means it's been there since Friday morning.
2 things:
1) “Xbox One is now sold out at most retailers.” This is fact, at MOST retailers. Do people disregard important words just to get a reaction.
2) Companies gets shipment in daily. Stores that may have been sold out on Friday morning could have gotten some shipment in late Friday or Saturday. Seeing a place that has a product in stock does no mean it's been sitting there since Friday. Sure some may, but not all.
Sony told someone on the help line that there were 800 people on queue when PS4 came out with their issues. PS4 failure rate was 0.4%. Online makes problems seem more than they really are. You cannot judge overall % rate by how many people online say they are.
There is failure rate for ANY product, people should expect them, especially on launch. A million products spread out in 12 months will see less problems per day; a million products sold in a day will see more pro...
In all fairness Microsoft made over half a billion dollars in 24 hours. In any business, that's no failure.
Both are the 2 best selling console launches of all time. This just means great things for console gaming in general.
They both sold over a million. Neither are perfect. Neither "lost". Now can we stop playing "mine is bigger than yours" game.
The website isn't hosted 300k times.
A) Skype and various streaming channels are intergrated
B1) You cable box is running all the time. No different from playing PS4 on your TV as the cable box is still on 24/7.
B2), MS said they designed the unit to be on 24/7 and will last at least 10 years doing so
B3) different things to different people. No product can satisfy 100% of the people. Making it an optional feature is different from making it a mandatory feature. You don...

PS4 has the same multitasking features, but not as intensive. Why do people complain about MS but not Sony on this subject-matter?
I was skeptic with Kinect, but after a day's worth on it it's actually a great integrated feature to have on the OS and in games (subtle feedback, much like how vibrating controllers are now). Now personally, I hope MS won't take it away or else developers won't push the envelope with subtle gestures. If everyone has it then it makes sense for developers to want to use it. If not then nobody would want to spend the extra time to use it. Lots of potential to be had if peopl...
Funny how non-game developers think they know how to product test better than experienced developers. I'm sure they know 30-minute testings in PAX, etc can only get so much feedback. I'm also certain those aren't the only testings/feedback they do.
