They just didn't want to spend money $$$ putting up and maintaining servers for the PSN network.
And can you blame them? They aren't getting any revenue from a free network.

Everyone already knows that summer time is the 'lows' for the gaming industry - it's even been reported as such. And there has been almost no good releases for 360 this summer so far (Two Worlds and BioShock are due at the middle to end of next month).
I just downloaded 1-5 for my 360. I'm gonna try it now.
I like it! Though it reminds me in many ways of Prey (which was good too), I think I'll wait for the $30 price drop simply cause the multiplayer will get old quickly.
I'm not trying to downplay it- if it's selling, it's selling!
I'm just saying there's an abundance of these articles suddenly which may give some the false sense that it's sold out everywhere like it was a Cabbage Patch Doll or Power Ranger or something.
Now until the end of July, expect to see this as every other news story.
To anyone curious; don't believe the hype! Ask questions, like; how many PS3 games were sold with all these consoles suddenly "selling out" and "outselling 360".

In the 90's, I was an Arcade Attendent (college years). I've seen numerous times people yelling, cussing and smashing the game because either they lost to the game or to another player.
And I'm sure many can relate to having the phone ring or some other distraction which sets us back somehow in the game. Unfortunately, there are those that don't know how to control their rage.

y'all fanboys should heed his words. WHY? For two reasons;
1. He's worked closely with the Japanese market under Sega - and knows the telltale signs once the Japanese consumers start lacking support towards a Japanese product (Dreamcast). It's amazing how you fanboys suddenly get amnesia and fail to realize this.
2. He knows the plight of an American product in Japan, competing against Japanese products via Microsoft. Everyone knows that the Japanese/Asian game...
With Mass Effect, Halo3, CoD4, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, BioShock, Blue Dragon, Huxley, PGR4, Turok, Eternal Sonata, Half-Life2: OrangeBox, ViruaFighter5, Sega Rally Revo, Assasin's Creed, GrandTheftIV,($60x16=$960)ther e's absolutely no reason to buy a PS3 until at least AFTER X-mas.
I know some of these will be released on PS3 as well but to date, the better version has been the 360 AND with online games, the 360 has precedent! So, $399 will be dipping into my games fund for ...

About the PS3...a turd.
It's a loss to Sony but a greater loss to the industry. He was obviously following Sony's PR & Marketing strategy; talk big & talk a lot of shhhht which got him canned. The sad thing is; he's gone & Sony is still at it. What a waste.
reports that the PS3 would be so expensive to make and the reports that there was a delay for system launch....and they denied the change of hardware for the European market, when the head of SCEE 'accidently' mentioned the price, the stoppage of manufacturing the 20G model, and the addition of the 80G model.
Sony ALWAYS denies the truth.
So when the 80G version doesn't sell, like the 20G version and the 60G, I guess they'll be getting rid of that too.
EDIT: ROFL Man, I rem when fanboys would challenge the author of a story or say they don't believe it cause it's some unknown website. Like when Merill Lynch estimated the cost of the PS3 and said there would be a delay. Sony Fa6s were like; "What the heck do they know about the gaming industry.
