Lazy probably isn't the correct term. I am sure it's a quality control measure so they know that every game going out the door is equal so they don't have some consumers unknowing bitching about a frame rate drop when realy they are just dropping from 60 to 30.
"That would mean you would have to design your game around that option meaning that it would limit what you can do with the game right from the start. Not only that but the vast majority ofbplayers would not even ise it. It's jot worth it. "
Thats not true at all. If they know they can hit 30 fps locked, they can give an option to unlock the frame rate allowing the hardware to scale with load. That said, on pc, nothing is more annoying than bouncing between 30 ...
IT would be awesome if the new mario kart would embrace user created content like tracks, cars, etc...much like lil big planet.
I will happily pay any ammount of money for a vr headset to use with any racing game, combined with the playseat and your choice of wheel this would be amazing.
It's bold of me to have an opinion?
"All of these xbox one games coming in at 720p/900p in 2014 is not good news for the long term viability of the hardware."
Are you telling me that XB1 games coming in at 720 and 900 is good news for the long term viability?
Look, its early in the game and they could get this worked out. Only time will tell. I am going on what we currently know, and as it currently sits, this is not good n...
From a visual standpoint I tend to agree, it's hit or miss if people will notice, the general consumer probably doesn't see, or know their is a difference.
That said, from a tech view. All of these xbox one games coming in at 720p/900p in 2014 is not good news for the long term viability of the hardware. 1080p is native resolutions for the majority of TVs on the market. I find it unacceptable that brand new "next-gen" hardware needs to compromise for frame...
Quite honestly, I don't think the xbox one version looking close to the pc is because the XB1 is doing anything crazy. This is a source engine game and that about as good as it gets for a source engine game on PC.
People realize they don't have to buy the game if they are not happy with the length?
So now people are trying to judge an alpha release? Whats next reviewing games after looking at screenshots?
That works for the pulse owners, but for those of us that jumped aboard right when the wireless stero headset with virtual surround was released they only had the USB dongle.
Im not a trademark expert but I wonder how Sony will respond to him using official sony logos. I suppose it is just a font anyone could by, just not sure how that is covered.
You seem to have made the assumption I am a pc gamer because of my offense to your take on steam. Who sony and Microsoft could learn a thing or two.
So....
Here is my list of machines I currently own in the order of most played. Wii-u, 3ds xl, vita, pc, ps3, [all of my retro consoles combined(nes, snes, genesis, 32x, sega cd, master system, n64]), ps4(least gamed on, its disapointing). and for the reasons I stated above I have not purchased and XB1 but wi...
Lol, you missed my point completely, and it wasn't obvious considering the first segment of your podcast. . I'm not even going to detail the hipocracy in the comments you made. I was going to listen again based on the PM I received from one of your cohosts. But your jackass attitude is just asking for fan boy backlash. I am not going to go that route. Rather, you can ask your co-host for my response to him. You are obviously not capable of having an legitimate conversation about d...
/\ That said. I also listened to the podcast and after hearing the resolutions, I though it may have some promise, but the rest of the show was one big contradiction of undertones laid out through the rest of the show. I could go into multiple specifics, but the one that jumped out immediately, was the jab at steam and pc gaming, then the agreement that digital media prices should drop along with retail. Something that steam is great at. I am fine with disagreements and opinions but it see...
Quite honestly I think all of the gaming media are over reacting a bit to the wii-u targets being dropped to 3 million for the year. Nintendo is sitting on 19 billion in surplus, 19 billion!!!! They are not in trouble as a company. Also people keep talking about how a real next gen Zelda, or Mario would be awesome on other platforms. I completely disagree. First I don't think the platform is really holding games back from being good, a link between worlds on 3ds was amazing. 2, I don'...
So what happens to the resources if xbox releases an XB1 without kinect. Even if it free'd up resources dev would not be able to use them since some people may have the kinect plugged in. Unless they want to downscale the game if kinect is plugged in.
That's weird since making PC games look awesome hasn't hindered development time and these are basically just PCs with proprietary hardware. I smell bullshyt
I have a wii-u and love it. I even wrote an article about it being a great 2nd console. http://n4g.com/news/1398304...
But, I rearely use the gamepad unless required, mostly just the pro controller, and I would argue that good games do sell good consoles. Unfortunately the wii-u is an overpriced console with good games. If they would lower the price and get rid of the game pa...
Although numbers like this are good fanfare, I will wait for the initial NPD numbers. I don't think there is any doubt that PS4 is outselling XB1. I have found XB1s on shelves at big box stores since launch.
In my opinion reviews are relative to the genre, expectations and the audience that will play it. 5/5 for garden warefare is apples to oranges when compared to a game that was promoted to the extent of Titanfall.
