Apart from the poorly worded and superficial arguments in the letter, this move by R* is rediculous.
You made a mistake, so fix it and let the consumer play your game. Stop crying and arguing about censorship. R* is NOT going to change anything, you're an irresponsible game development company NOT a political powerhouse. Get over it because censorship is here to stay whether we like it or not.
Seriously, with a name like R* I expect less whining and more delivery...
Get a psychology education and you'll understand why it's damaging to children to watch porn. I'm not going to get into it because I'm guessing you'll just blindly and stubbornly defend your view and call it your "opinion" to sidestep any logical and factual argument.
Anyone think there's enough testosterone in this post? Seriously, guys, it's just a video game. Real girls are way better. Practice your social skills and go out in real life to find some real breast profiles and thong wearing hotties. And no I'm not talking about the strip club or the girl-next-door's window.
While I see the direction you would like to go with this, I think you are passing judgment too soon. It's one thing to say that this is a tragedy and objectively ask oneself, where were the parents but it's another thing to outright blame them without knowing the facts.
I suggest all of us refrain from speculation and judgment until the facts are clear and public, and even then passing judgment is a similar action to condemning someone for their faults.
An act of...
Seriously, whoever disagreed has some severe compassion issues. This is tragic and should not be treated like a joke. It's very difficult and perhaps impossible for most to understand what either child was going through.
It is not our place to judge or speculate on what went on, who's to blame, what the punishment should be, or make absurd and heartless comments about the situation. Events like this are a serious reminder to us all that life is precious and fragile. My heart an...
The PS3 fans will be happily orgasmic this holiday season over Lair, Rachet and Clank, Killzone 2, and others. The Wii fans will find themselves sweating to WiiFit and drooling over Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3. The XBOX 360 fans will be hypnotically glued to Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, and others.
This holiday season everyone wins. Their will be no loser, unless someone REALLY screws up somewhere.
Sony will have a HUGE holiday season this year, period. With titles like Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Ratchet and Clank Future, and if the system takes a cut in price the PS3 is going to jump in sales significantly.
This doesn't mean Sony will "win" this holiday season. I believe Sony's "win" will be a win for themselves and won't be a win against competitor Microsoft, nevermind the Wii since that system is in a l...
Fallout 3 will definately burn away time like a fuse on a nuclear warhead. This game is going to be incredible and in my opinion highly addictive. I'm sure I'll walk away from it wondering where the hell I am and what time it is. Hopefully, it releases on time so we don't have to wait longer for this masterpiece.
Yes, Super Mario Galaxy is fantastic looking. It also seems like the gameplay is highly entertaining. Was it Nintendo's best at E3? Probably but Metroid Prime 3 should have at least been in the video.
I have one gripe, G4. It's turning into an "Mtv" style channel and it's very disappointing.
Perhaps we will see the Gameboy successor in the near future. Holiday season 2010, anyone? That's just a wild guess.
Anyway, the Gameboy has survived quite a long time and even in the face of more "colorful", higher-end competitors. I think it's about time the Gameboy honorably resigns from the gaming world instead of ending up a obsolete contender.
Wow, not much for information but I'm always supportive for something "...totally awesome..." as Pearce has stated.
I found the Zelda retrospective to be very good and I thought to myself, they should do a Final Fantasy retrospective. Now that they have, let me say this, it is outstanding! I am very excited to watch the rest of the series.
Nintendo is definately in a league of their own.
Nintendo has initiated the creation of a new gaming demographic and that new audience is a now a huge supporter of Nintendo and their innovative vision. This doesn't mean that Nintendo is taking away gamers from Microsoft or Sony it only means that they have included a fraction of those gamers into their new larger Wii community. The gamers who support Microsoft and/or Sony still support them while also finding interest and givi...
Interesting read but unfortunately, he really didn't say much. He sounded more like a politician as he spoke in general terms and never really made any specific remarks other than the programmable shaders he'd like to use.
I would've loved to read more about his thoughts on turn-based versus action based RPG's. Also, I would've liked to read more about his involvement and point of view of story telling. Oh, well.
...and dude, nice stache. That's a Selleck stash f...
This game is going to blow away everyone who has ever enjoyed the Rachet and Clank series, and then some.
I can't wait to waste hours of my time collecting meaningless items, blasting guys away with exaggerated weapons, and listening to the hilarious story unfold. Good times, goods times.
What's missing from your post is a statement about the hundreds of thousands of people who don't go to the gym but instead work out at home on their various TV bought gym equipment (i.e. 6 Second ABS, Core Sculptor, Ston-O-Max Turbo Body Toner, elliptical machines, etc. etc.). May I add they are all around $60-$100.
There is a market for this and it will sell millions. I'm not interested in the fitness part of it either but I know quite a few people who find it exciting. My int...
You posted just before I did so I'm not including you when I say all. Obviously, you have more intelligence and compassion then most of these sick and shallow people.
No, the majority of people won't go off and kill others because of a video game but for any of you to say that it isn't possible shows your ignorance to reality. Open your eyes, things are not absolute.
All of the above comments show a serious lack of concern for another's opinion surrounding a very real, highly traumatic, and fatally serious happening. The only apparent concern in the above comments are for a video game, a f*cking meaningless video game! You all show more comp...
With my usual distaste for games like Manhunt 2, Campfire, Postal III, and similar games, this game I have no problem with. The premise and story of this game do not present killing or murder as a "past time" as the aforementioned games do but Jericho at least has merit in the idea that these actions are a necessity to save humanity not from other psychotic humans but from a vicious supernatural evil.
So I agree, this game is going to kill. Yea, lame pun, I know...
