It's Nintendo's answer for the hardcore fans (i.e. MGS/GOW). A new and original hardcore franchise on the Wii. It will be an open-ended action/FPS wartime space odyssey with dark Asian undertones and an American comic style storyline (i.e. Max Payne/Red Steel meets Killzone 2/Halo). The main character will be a Mexican bean farmer named Juan who gets drafted by the United Global Defense Force to plant the seeds of destruction within a menacing new enemy's territory light years away.

What?! No WiiFit!? How could they not include WiiFit?! Note the sarcasm with a slight dash of truth...
The only one I don't agree with is the number 1 spot. Rock Band? Seriously? I thought Mass Effect would be a better choice, even Little Big Planet would have been better.
How is it that this thread has 45+ comments and yet it's only at 130 degrees? That just baffles me.
Predictions without research and data are worthless. I wouldn't get too excited over any idea of an upgraded (next-gen) Wii in 2-3 years. The system will be in its prime by then and it would make no sense to undermine its success with an overhauled model.
However, I would expect a new model to show if the system begins a reversal of popularity and sales begin to ra...
I don't think it's possible to make the PS3 render such horrible graphics. I'm kidding. The game looks fun(ny) and it's odd that they chose to do this. Maybe the think that the user base for the PS3 doesn't have a demand for this type of material.
I'm kidding of course but that is an awesome title.
Gaming has historically been male dominated and it's nice to see females getting involved in the cultural phenomenon of video games. Personally, I'd love to watch a match where some girl owns a hardcore male gamer. That's would be great to see.
Not necessarily news for N4G but then again N4G doesn't really have a channel for things like this.
That's what I tried to tell them but look at my "Disagrees".
This is pretty sweet news...
Imagine playing games where the ambient lighting changes in color, complimenting the games graphics and currently displayed environment (i.e. some survival/horror game where the ambient lighting turns red as your health bar decreases, or an FPS where the ambient lighting is green for a jungle environement, etc.).
Here I go PM'ing people about why they're losing bubbles so fast and the answer is right here.
The bubble system was in definate need of an overhaul. I'm glad it's done and hopefully it works way better than the old version.
It's not America everyone hates, it's the United States. The US tends to be a bit arrogant in its business and politics but I should the majority of people here in the states also despise their very own government. So don't go blowing us up just yet. Let us try to fix our problems first.
@ SmokeyMcBlunt: I see you actually learned nothing in geography class. Your name makes total sense to me now.
The author provides a slightly detailed documentary of the events and jobs he had at R*. The author seems to take an unbiased and narrative approach to describing his time with the company. It almost reads like a fictional novel and sometimes seemingly non-fictional.
In light of the Take2 accounting fraud, after hearing this, it totally makes sense. A lot of what he has described confirms and solidifies my assumptions and rampant (negative) rumors I've heard about R* and Take2....
Wow! Seriously? That's cool, I just can't imagine that. I guess it has a lot to do with a person's current state of mind and environment. If I was playing Super Mario World in a time where I was depressed and the game didn't alleviate any of my feelings then I probably wouldn't find it that fun...
Maybe that's the implication...inside joke from R*?
The inclusion of in-game advertising may help decrease the price point of games, which is talked about in the following feed:
http://www.n4g.com/industry...
If the result of in-game advertising brings the retail price of games down, then hell yea, I'm all for it. But I think we should be weary of this kind of stuff getting out of hand, as taz8080 seems to be proposing.
Your comment, "Well, if McDonalds owned EA everything would be very cheap and come in huge portions..." had me laughing. I agree, good conversation. Bubbles to you as well, sir.
But it also costs less to actually use a real life product than to create a special model for the film. Instead of making a bunch of cans that look like name brand cola cans why not have a cola company sponsor the film and thus gain more funding and not use the time and effort in making such props.
In games, the dev team needs to create it either way.
While I agree with you that it could bring more realism to the game, I think this can be accomplished without actual real life companies invading our gaming community.
How much of a difference will it be to include fake advertising as compared to real advertising? Will a UK/Japanese/US/Chinese based company you never heard of make the game more realistic to you?
I think we're better off leaving real advertising out of our games. What happens when the advertising ...
Great insight my friend, have a bubble.
Well said, Shadow Flare. Very well said...
