I just saw a video comparing the details and mechanics of Horizon and Zelda and it was pretty interesting. While Horizon looks waaay better, Zelda still has the upper hand with physics and how the world reacts to what you are doing. I have not played any of them but BoTW's world looks more alive then any other open world game I have played. (In the sense that you can interact with almost anything in the world.)

Two amazing games. Horizon established itself as a fantastic new IP with sequels to come which is great! Zelda finally broke its pattern and did something different and succeeded.
If you like one better than the other it is your opinion and perfectly fine as we have different preferences. Saying one is better than the other though is only true for the one claiming it.
From who? Slant magazine already has a 6/10 up on metacritic.
If you scroll through the comments you do indeed see some butthurt comments, but I don't see anyone as butthurt as you are about Zelda getting high scores.
"All of the 40 sites that gave Zelda 9 or 10 in score are blinded by nostalgia and are wrong. The 2 sites that gave this game a 7/10 are the only ones that know how to write a review; they're the only objective ones."
What is this? Grow up man.
"Fangirls" Is that supposed to be a extra insult because you call them girls? Stupid.
Though fanboys are more or less the same no matter which console they pledge their allegiance to. A few people doing a DDoS attack is not representative of the 99.9% other fans out there.
But the fanboys doing this attack are beyond immature and stupid. Jim Sterling is a respected reviewer and people should accept his score no matter how much they disagree with it.
I think the map has plenty of stuff to do. I'm really happy they didn't go the direction most open world games do by having the map filled with icons. Like when you climb a tower and then you get tenfolds of different icons up on your map. It just feels like a big chore and it doesn't let you find stuff on your own.
In Zelda you have to search and markt the icons yourself, and even if the map looks empty there is often something hidden from the eye if you are aware.
If it is no bother to the reviewer it shouldn't be a problem. The Witcher 3 had problems but what it did right totally outweighed its flaws, and warranted a 10 imo.
@MRMagoo123
If you really have tried Zelda I don't think you have explored the gameplay options one bit. You don't think it is impressive that you can fight a enemy in whichever way you want? If there is a storm you can throw metal near the enemy wich attracts the lightning making it strike the enemy. You can move a rock down a slope to hit the enemy, you can set fire to the grass to damage the enemy, you can use a magnet to move a object in the air above the enemy and drop i...
I'm convinced of not getting the Switch before Christmas if ever depending on the E3 announcements. BUT these articles are really starting to get old.
Well, you were downplaying Breath of the Wild's review score last time I saw you on N4G so you are not really that different.
In my opinion I'm sure Zelda reviews are a little biased and reflects reviewers who already loves the Zelda series and not people who have not played Zelda before. But comparing the sales of Horizon to Zelda and saying one beat the other is not justifiable due to the userbase. Horizon is a new IP indeed but that doesn't mean that BoTW and...
Do you limit yourself to playing games because of their visuals? I cared a alot about visuals before but I found out that not being a graphics whore makes gaming a whole lot better. Visualy flawed games can still be amazing.
Zelda running at 20fps when docked sucks and should be fixed though.
@Prince-Ali
What are you even on about?
"can i ask.. why isn't BoTW highy rated on the metacritic on the Wii U... they're the EXACT SAME GAME on both systems..!?"
I just went to metacritic and there wasn't a single review up for the Wii U version, so I really don't get your point? You simply have no argument backing up your statement: "lets be honest the game WOULDN'T be this high if it was JUST on the Wii U."

I know what you are getting at. I felt the same with the newest MGS. Though it makes sense that people that like certain types of games gets to review those types of games, as most people who are buying these games also likes to play them.
Though it would be cool if reviewers started of their reviews by telling the readers what kind of standpoint they have on beforehand. For example: How many of the previous games they have played, if any. What kind of expectations do they ...
It is currently ranked at the fourth best reviewed game ever on metacritic. Pretty insane. It's been 9 years since a game reached 98/100 on meta. (GTA IV)
Haha, what a comment
So you mean Famitsu can't be trusted anymore? Almost every review site has rated at least one game that is in hindsight looked upon as mediocre.
Broken controls? I think the controls worked perfectly as they should, and it was honestly one of the best components of the game imo. ( https://www.youtube.com/wat... )
I won't argue with bad pacing though, as I partly agree.
I agree, I've been wanting a F-Zero for ages. I get that publishing a F-Zero game might be risky for them though.
A true pokemon game in the sense of the handeld ones on a console would be totally awesome! Also Metroid has got to be in development by now, if not I have no idea what Nintendo is doing.
No worries, but with AAA games I mean high budget games. Nintendo has AAA titles like Pokemon, Zelda, Mario and so forth. Third party titles I don't care much for as you said I have a PS4. Altough third parties are important for the Switch's appeal in the sense of marketing. (Fifa 18 being confirmed is very good!)
So I am like you buying the Switch for (AAA) Nintendo games. I'm hoping for a new metroid, 3D donkey kong, SSB or F-Zero game to be announced at E3.

I'm pretty sure you won't regret getting Horizon. It definitely looks like a solid GOTY contender. Can't wait to get my hands on Zelda myself though. I grew up with the games as a child and have loved the series since.
