It has more to do with the reviewers these days than the player. All AAA games are scored from 7-10 unless they are extremely over the top bad, then they might get 6. So if you have followed review scores the past five years you see that what once got a 7/10 now gets a eight or a nine. So by today a 7/10 is rather low for a AAA game. This is why I overlook review scores from big sites like IGN, Gamespot, Edge, Famitsu and so on, and rather trust in smaller review sites that can give out hones...
"Take it for what it is or STFU." If everyone thought like that we would not have come far. Either you like it or not, criticism is what made EA and now Square Enix to turn away from their doom. If STFU about EA's bullshit because we did not have to but their games beloved franchises would be totally ruined. So I don't see why we have to STFU about Destiny.
I'm not gonna bash you as I see your point and I too have concerns about The Order. BUT short games can usally be the best ones. TLOU, Uncharted and God of War are marvelous games and they can all be completed around 10 hours without even rushing. (and I'm sure The Order will definitely last longer than 5 hours if you play it as it should be played.)
I'll gladly pay 60 bucks for The Order if it offers a well written story and has decent gameplay. The gaming industry are sh...
I'll admit that I don't support them giving out five different versions of the 3ds (also the ordinary DS) and also making game(s) exclusive to one. But I also did not support Sony for making all those different PSPs and also excluding a bunch of games for the PSP Go.
But I don't get Hoffmann's point is all.
What? Because Nintendo gives out a single old wii game as a exclusive to the new 3ds system?
"why I stopped buying Nintendo hardware years ago." I can't recall them doing something like this before so would you care to elaborate?
Well it is possible to be sceptical about a game without being a hater. I like most are excited for The Order but I am also like many sceptical because of its gameplay. It's not like we want the game to fail, but we are afraid it will because the demo we played was disappointing. Hopefully it will turn out amazing but I am in slight doubt.
Well they are in fact pretty grown, they dare to not sell this game which will make gamers all over the world hate them. They also show a good attitude holding back a - arguably - socially irresponsible game.
I have not played manhunt but you can't place Mortal Kombat and GTA in the same category as Postal and Hatred. The differnce is that Hatred motivates and encourages the player to murder innocent people. Hatred is also a lot more realistic in animations, reactions and what you can do. So it is worse than Postal, as Postal tries to be a bit comical too.
I would definitely defend the developers right to make this game but I would never defend their choice to make it.
Absolutely, there is some smart PR going on right there.
I always say that Ocarina is the best zelda game but that is just because it was mind blowing for its time. The new zelda games is actually better so I do agree. I think my favourites though has to be TP and a link between worlds. The only zelda game I don't like is actually WW. I never got any Zelda vibes from it, but it was an amazing game nevertheless.
Interesting, thanks for pointing it out!
I have encountered a lot of minor bugs in my 70 hour play time. I'm glad that they ain't ignoring the problems and tries to fix them. Amazing game nevertheless.
There is a lot of those articles out there, but N4G is 80% about Sony and graphics. You just have to go somewhere else to find them.
Nintendo is actually catering both the casuals and the hardcore in SSB. The learning curve of SSB is a lot deeper than you might think.
@Septic
What the heck man? Make our minds up? I was never impressed by the trailer at E3 as it was only a cutscene. (It did excite me though) But I always knew the actual gameplay would not look like that, you have to have little knowledge in games to believe so actually. You paint a pretty black and white picture of the people commenting here, but it seems you are too blinded too see that.
If you mean this is a downgrade you have to mean that The Last of Us is a down...
Naughty Dog never lied here as there obviously was no downgrade, at least we don't know yet. The footage we saw from E3 was a cutscene and in all the latest ND games the cutscenes has been looking better than the actual gameplay.
If we was shown a cutscene and it looked worse than that from E3 then it would be a downgrade. Most likely what was shown at E3 is how the cutscenes will look and what was shown recent is how the gameplay will look.
The same thing was done with L...
Well, millions of people would tell you otherwise. What's so sad about the horse riding and bow shooting anyway? If you have ever played Zelda you will know there will be tons of items, sword action and puzzles, but I guess that doesn't count?
which triple-A publisher would try to make a game like this i wonder? I can't think of any so please enlighten me.
Great review!
It's good that you actually are using the scale as it should be used. Too many reviewers are using the scale only from 7 to 10, where a 7 is bad.
Skyward was seperated in different disconnected areas. So it's not fully open world. But Twilight definitely was.
