Even if Microsoft sold a new SKU with the HD-DVD player built-in, they wouldn't start printing their games on HD-DVD discs. What are they going to do?! Release 2 versions of every game! One on HD-DVD and one on standard DVD. It would be financial suicide. Some of you are bat sh*t crazy.
Castlevania did make a successful jump to 3D. It's called Devil May Cry. Street Fighter can't evolve in a 2D plane. Street Fighter 3 was nothing more than a new cast with better animations. I love Street Fighter as much as the next guy and this will be a first day purchase for me, but I have to be honest, I'm not all that excited.
I just think that games like Guilty Gear pushed 2D games to their limits. Imagine if Capcom had went 3D a decade ago. With sequels and revisions, Street Fighter could've been up there with Virtua Fighter/Tekken/Dead or Alive/Soulcalibur, but they were scared. They knew that they couldn't meet expectations with their first 3D game. Was VF1, DOA1, Tekken 1, or even Soul Blade all that impressive? No. But today, they're amazing and untouchable. No one wants to compete with those fighters,...
That's classic. Congratulations guys. Lost Planet is awesome. My only complaint was the difficulty. Maybe that will be addressed. I'm sorry, but I can't get excited about Street Fighter 4. To little, to late. I still expect it to be a 2D game.
And the game will get delayed "cuz" of PS3. 3 bubbles is way to many for you.
Tekken doesn't have the fluidity/accessibility of Dead or Alive. It doesn't have the depth/amazing character balance of Virtua Fighter. And from what I've seen so far, Soulcalibur IV is humiliating Tekken 6 from a next-gen perspective. There's nothing wrong with Tekken, it's a great game, but the weakest of the 4 in my opinion. Virtua Fighter was hailed as the greatest fighting game on the planet when it went playstation exclusive, but as soon as it went to 360, people lost interest in it...
Then why does it matter? The average consumer won't spot what you're talking about. Actually some of them might prefer what the 360 is doing. HD-DVD wasn't in the 360 for one simple reason: IT WASN'T READY YET! The one year headstart put the 360 ahead of PS3 and that was all that mattered to Microsoft. I don't think it's about smoke and mirrors. It's about competing. What do you want them to do? Throw up their hands and say "Yeah, Blueray is better. We're dropping out of the ra...
That most of the Sony guys are the same person. Or there's some strange cult where you have to say a prayer and end it with: Play Beyond. And how many people could possibly be running around saying: Halo 640p24fps all the time. Don't get me wrong, the xbox guys can be just as annoying, but why make the exact same comment in every single board? You're wasting everybody's time, along with your own. I tend to be very forgiving when it comes to first person shooters. I enjoyed the original...
But the PS3 version came out 8 months ago. What do you want? The devs themselves said the 360 version has better graphics, but there's not enough difference to really matter. There won't be an online patch for PS3, but I expect a VF5 evolution type release with online play and probably 2 new characters. PS3 fans will gloat and the extra content will come as a download for the 360 version. It will never end with you people.
While a 30% failure rate is inexcusable, 70% won't have any problems and the other 30% will have their consoles repaired and returned within 3 weeks for free. It shouldn't deter you from buying one. Anything electronic will ultimately fail. I'm tired of seeing this blown out of proportion.
360 has just hit the 2 year mark, which is about 24 months. 11 months is 1 month away from a year, which equals 12. 24 - 12 is 12. PS3 has sold 6 million in about a year while 360 has only sold 11 million in about 2 years? Which means 360 is selling about 5.5 million a year while PS3 is selling about 6 million, but you're not considering the fact that consoles sell the best when they're fresh on the market. So the PS3 probably won't sell another 6 million in it's next year, meaning? PS3...
The single greatest quote in the history of N4G. What's with all the hostility guys? I think we're reaching a point where it's almost impossible to determine which game has better graphics. There's to much to consider. Framerate, art style, resolution, load times, draw distance, pop-in, lighting, etc. You can't look at a screenshot anymore and determine whether or not it looks better than something else. Opinions are not facts people. The Halo bashing has to stop. Whether you want to ...
For trying to make more money and draw in more fans? The only reason PS3 doesn't have Lost Planet and Dead Rising is because the PS3 wasn't even out yet when they were released. What makes more sense to you? Porting those old games over? Or concentrating on the multiplatform sequels? Why is the Devil May Cry thing a big deal? You're still getting the game! PS2 had the fanbase last generation and Sony screwed xbox out of any capcom games. NO Resident Evil! NO Devil May Cry! Just a cr...
That their favorite console might drop out of the race. They think that if they bash a certain game or system, they're going to have an impact on sales. Idiots indeed.
The Playstation guys can easily avoid all things Halo by clicking on the PS3 section of any game site, but when I click on any article on any game site, I find constant Halo bashing. Most of the time Halo and xbox aren't even involved.
That Gabe Newell was fat, that he was paid by Microsoft to insult the PS3, and that we all need to P L A Y B 3 Y O N D. You've inspired me to throw my launch day 360 that's NEVER RROD into the garbage, along with those crappy games: Gears of War, Halo 3, Bioshock, and of course the already released Orange Box. Microsoft paid for those perfect scores across the board anyway. Those games could have ran on PS2. Now I can get a PS3 and join the next-gen by playing HOME. I thank you sir.
Has complained about PS3 development. Could this be the REAL reason why Sony lost all their exclusives? I'm sure the installed base of 360 and Wii was a factor, but maybe it's just to difficult. It will be interesting to see how all the delayed games turn out. Although, with EA working on the Orange Box port, I don't expect it to be the smoothest experience.
If you sound like a complete tool everytime you speak? Should I end all my comments with: "Jump In!" so everybody knows my comments are biased and don't mean anything. You like the PS3. We get it, but if you can't be objective than you're wasting everybody's time. I'm joining the hundreds by ignoring you, but when you create a new account to continue your undying hatred for all things non-PS3, I hope you use a new avatar.
And others retaliate by slamming 360 games they've barely played and talk up PS3 games that aren't even out yet. Look. Gears of War and Halo 3 shipped with 10 hour campaigns and about a dozen maps each. BOTH were on one disc. I'm VERY satisfied with the amount of content from both of those games. Mass Effect has 80 hours of gameplay and is a game of the year contender with some of the best graphics I've ever seen. NOTHING on PS3 is outdoing the graphics of any these games. Have any of ...
I got a pretty good PS2 library, but I want to trade-in/retire my PS2 because it's not running so well anymore. I don't want that thing sitting next to my PS3 either. They're finally selling the PS3 at a reasonable price, but they ditched one of my favorite features. And it's all because they want people to buy more PS3 games. I don't think you guys get it. bc was one of the things that defined playstation. It was a real selling point knowing that I could buy the latest playstation and ...
