They're next gen because they use next gen technology to tell cinematic stories. Pay attention to the environment when you're playing Bioshock and watch the facial animation when you play Mass Effect. Oh wait! You never will because you're a fanboy.
If you're not a fanboy, and just a gamer, why would you pick PS3 over the competition? Sure it's a great system with some great games, but everyone else has more to offer. This year you can pick up a 360 and Halo. A Wii with Mario. And there's all kinds of stuff on PC. What does PS3 have? Where's it's system defining game? It's best games are also on PC and 360.
I was able to predict all the fanboy comments before I even clicked on this story. What's the point in arguing about this? So some people had to get in their car and drive down to the store and trade their PS3 in for one that works. Where's the problem? It wouldn't bother me one bit. You're a little biased. Pretty much everyone here is. It could still go either way. What if HD DVD came standared with PC's? What if HD DVD continues to stay one step ahead of Blueray with their price point? What if other studios are persuaded to go HD DVD exclusive? Sony hands out the money hats too. That's how they got so many exclusives so fast. How many PS3 owners are actually buying Blueray movies? That's a legitimate question. I don't care who wins. I just want it to be over....

When Virtua Fighter went playstation exclusive, all you ever heard about was how awesome Virtua Fighter was. It was pronounced the best fighter on the planet. You're the only person on the planet who refers to Ninja Gaiden as super easy. Master Ninja mode is one of the hardest things I've ever done in a game. Devil May Cry 3 isn't challenging, it's cheap. There's a HUGE difference between challenging and stupid hard. It has to do with AI. I love Devil May Cry, but it doesn't hold a candle to Ninja Gaiden.

The screenshot comparisons have different backgrounds,lighting, etc. You would need the exact same screenshot from both games in order to have an accurate comparison. But if you guys want to compare one version of a game that came out a year ago to a game coming out next year, have at it.
