Yeah drop in co op, my experience is that people noodle around for five minutes then leave, I'm going to play through solo with "Knife girl" then try and co op my way through with another character.
The only really good co-op sessions I've ever had were on Crackdown and Borderlands, people seemed to stick around longer for some reason.
What I will say is that this game is Fucked up, but in a good way ie twisted and really dark in tone, especially once you get...
The best thing about Homefront is the way the MP maps are designed, you get those great chokepoint battles and a real back and forth style of gameplay.
I've played about 12 hours of Dead Island on 360 without a single glitch or problem, some of the quests are confusing,as in you might not get all the information on exactly where to leave supplies etc but in all the game is great. The only other thing I've noticed is that the respawn system is a bit iffy, sometimes you get booted back to the quest hub, or to the border of an area or sometimes straight back into the same melee and get taken down straight away, which is mildly annoying ...
Yeah that's a glaring problem with Assassin's Creed, no kids, there are plenty of ways they could be worked into games without making them killable.
The frigging annoying thing about this game is that it forces you into situations where you have to fight, if you're playing a stealth build there are points where it just becomes...kill,save, kill, save.
Frostbite makes it Non Generic, every match is different because of the destruction.
That and I can only get kills in hardcore games requiring skill instead of muscle memory, CoD is frustrating if you haven't got fast reflexes for some reason. A broader range of people, in age and ability can play slower paced shooters like BF or Halo.
I'll leave CoD to the teenagers.
Homefront still has full servers all the time on XBL, if that "Rough Diamond" didn't bomb BF3 certainly won't.
However given the problems BFBC:2 had on launch I can see myself waiting a couple of weeks before buying BF3.
Yeah ditto,Oblivion wasn't as good as Morrowind but I've still racked up 250+ hours on it and every time I go to get a game off the shelf I look at it and think...hmmmm, I should start another character. Fallout 3 and Vegas are "good" games but there's just something about TES, it's like Halo the environments are actually pleasant to look at for hours on end, no piss yellow filter over everything or nauseating "camera shake" and depth of field effects.
Who is Rose Byrne?
I spend so much time playing video games I haven't watched a movie in years :)
Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, the Witcher II and Two Worlds II are "proper" WRPG's, as for JRPG's..hmmm, it's been a while since I've played one but I enjoyed Lost Odyssey and The Last Remnant on the 360, there's a plethora of good DS and Wii JRPG's too, PS3 I don't know about since I don't own one.
It all depends if a game drags on and on or it's engaging all the way through.
I also don't mind short games as long as they have high replay value
Spraying sewage over the place wasn't as funny as seeing Nico rocket through the windscreen of a car or the Hall Of Meat in Skate.
To be honest I've laughed more playing games like Skate or Bad Co multiplayer than games which "try" to be funny because funny things happen when the game actually gives you the tools to mess about and make your own fun.
Halo Reach is another "funny" game, mainly because you can record the fun, those "epic fail"...
I agree but in that Loot Grind style of gameplay starting levels over isn't too big of a deal if you get more stuff, what I found tiring was the lack of variety in enemy design.
I think I played through three and a half times before I finally got sick of those Frost Giant battles.
The game was promoted as having randomised levels and enemy spawns but you'd never know due to the samey environments and lack of enemy variety.
Too Human was great fun, just not that...
Blacklight: Tango Down has a similar system and the bases are pretty defensible, plus you have the "magic visor" so you can see campers outside the perimeter.
It's not a great game in other respects but they got that part right. A lot of the BC2 base areas were too open IMO, the tighter, more complex ones were a lot easier to defend from spawn campers, Atacama and Port Valdez were the worst from memory. I remember rage quitting a couple of times on Valdez before I figure...
I had a good time in BC2 sitting there guarding against spawn campers, granted it's a boring way to pass the time in conquest but, especially in hardcore with the MG I got some kills. I like wasting players who think they're being really clever and sneaky, same sense of satisfaction when you shank a sniper or drop a building on someone.
I think vehicle stealing as a fair tactic too, it leads to more of those "Battlefield moments" which is the whole reason I play the...
I've played the first two missions this afternoon and I'm enjoying the game immensely.
Hunted has a very "gears" feel if you play as Elara, it also has aim assist which makes the game a bit too easy on medium.
Everything works as advertised, the plot is basic but well written and voiced, the characters aren't too annoying or stereotyped, there's never any confusion about what to do next, plenty of challenges and upgrades to work toward, good music, pass...
Whaaaat? Nier is a great game, it reminded me of FFXI and Lost Odyssey in it's design and in it's overall feel, it has it's same chilled, introspective tone and the kooky, friendly ambience of Windurst.
The story is actually really good once you get into it the main character is pretty forgettable but the supporting cast are really interesting.
Interesting, the way it's described puts me in mind more of Borderlands than anything.
I'm 23 hours into DA2 and still waiting for it to really get going. What DA:O had was momentum there was a sense of urgency to the writing, DA2 is a good game and I look forward to playing it at the end of the day but it's let down by the blandness of Kirkwall, it's just not an interesting place.
Gah...sleep deprived, it's been a while since a game really got it's hooks into me. I'm not very good at Gears multiplayer, but it's damn near impossible to put down, I sat down at 8:30 last night and the next thing I knew it was 2:00 and my hands were hurting like hell.
