Yeah Pixelsword but the gaming stereotype has swung to opposite and equally stupid extreme, the military shooter fire team with the wisecracking Hilbilly Sniper, the Asian intel expert, the gruff Black machine gunner and the tortured White sergeant is a stereotype in it's own right, look at Fuse or Binary Domain or any military shooter.
It look like it's based more on the second and third movies, the first one is more cop thriller than post apocalyptic.
The Nazis weren't as interesting as people think, when you strip away all the myths and propaganda they were basically a bunch of squares who did everything by the book and their society wasn't much fun for anyone, you'd have to embellish it so much that it'd just become something tacky and gratuitous. An AC game set in Weimar Germany, the Russian Revolution or the Chinese civil war would be awesome but I just can't see it working in the Third Reich era without degeneratin...
I downloaded R.A.W the other night and it's not too bad at all, it's a little bit frustrating until you reach level five or so and unlock some better skills and elemental gear but it's not the abomination reviewers make it out to be. I also messed around with Akaneiro for a few hours on Saturday, it's got potential, it's no Diablo but it's got the right bone structure so to speak.
It's the same reason why they don't use male models to sell skin cream and Victorias Secret or female models to sell chainsaws and fishing tackle.
When they're advertising car tyres and roofing services they show a competent, clean cut looking man in a polo shirt or overalls, if the product is food or related to the family's health they show a competent looking, clean cut woman.
It's called marketing, the fishing shows where they take hot girls out to catch...
Yeah I love it too, I've played 100 or so hours and I'm still nowhere near done with it, I put probably triple or quadruple that into Diablo 2,for about 3 years it was the only game I owned.
We're not talking Counter Strike here, I play Diablo 3 regularly and there's no "Skill" involved beyond press 1,2,3,4 and keep an eye on your health globe, Diablo isn't a win/lose game that requires precision, it's a loot grind where yo play areas over and over to get better stuff.
The answer to music piracy was Spotify, so we can expect to see something like that with games, Greenlight is another response, so you could see a scenario where only the people who invest a certain amount of money in the game get the full featured product on day one. The other solution would just be to move to completely digital distribution and make the games cheaper, EB is advertising PS4 games at about $120 Australian, if they were $30 I would probably buy one a fortnight.
Don'...
I don't feel anything much, I still play D3 once a week or so and still enjoy it, maybe they're delaying it so they can have simultaneous release across all platforms including the new consoles. If PS4 is getting Diablo III as well as The Elder Scrolls Online I'll probably get both when I buy the console...which given the state of my finances will most likely be next year anyway.
Zeitgeist means spirit of the age or spirit of the times.
Considering the only thing I need a console to do is play games I'm not even slightly interested in any other features, I've been an Xbox owner since the beginning but honestly, when Christmas 2013 rolls around and I've got the cash to update my console the only consideration will be price and what sort of bundle I can get, if PS4 is better value at the time I'll be getting one.
Yeah but how much of the COD experience is actually about perfecting a skill set or memorising button sequences? The gameplay is almost incidental to the levelling and unlocking, playing COD multiplayer is pretty much like grinding in an MMO.
And a fine shooter it was too.
Meh,meh and thrice meh, I'll pick up fuse when it's on special, as others have noted, from the demo it's not awful but it's nothing to write home about either.
This could be the next "sleeper hit" like Bulletstorm or it could be the next Bodycount, I'm leaning toward the latter because on the face of it Bulletstorm had a lot more to offer than Fuse does.
Well thank goodness it'll have cars and planes and not horses.
Lymle from Star Ocean and Heller from Prototype 2 are my least favourite characters of this gen. I actually liked Cooke and Mack, I thought Hope was a pussy but he didn't bother me so much, didn't play Walking Dead and didn't finish Red Dead Redemption so no opinion on the others.
Defiance is a great game, I'm playing it on 360 and it all works fine, these reviews are misleading, the game has been patched twice in the last two weeks and it's solid as a rock.
Defiance is an MMORPG it's not an open world shooter like Red Dead Redemption or Saints Row, it's an evolving game.
I agree, all except for the "truck trolls", those fuckers who've figured out that if they circle the arkfalls in vehicles running down the hellbugs before they can weaken the crystal they can run down the timer and cause everyone to fail the mission. I can't see any way to fix this short of excluding vehicles from the arkfall zones.
They also send out text messages to EB world members when pre-orders are ready, I remember getting Skyrim and Dead Island early, not by much though, from memory it was the day before the official release.
They had the Walking Dead for free a couple of weeks ago, it's not my cup of tea but it was a popular game.
