I was all about the Mega Drive and Sega (until Sega took a mega dive :p), my bros had a SNES for Christmas and although I was resistant to it at first, it has to be said that it holds up better out of the two. I loved Sonic 2 but Super Mario World was the better game (took me years to admit that) and Sega had no answer for games like Star Fox, Super Metroid, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct or Super Mario Kart. Mind you Nintendo had no answer for Streets of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin...
I'm not really that patient but I found Prey to be a delightful game, it's what I wanted Bioshock and Deus Ex: MD to be.
I'd say the hardware itself is the biggest limiting factor, it's just not ready yet for the prime time. I really enjoyed playing on my brothers PSVR and Rift (he sold them both soon after getting them), but to me they were 5-10 years from being ready and at too high a price.
Give me a £300 headset with everything included, a 180 degree fov, minimum of 4K resolution with a screen that has zero screen door effect (maybe 4K version of Sony's), 120+ framerate,...
I'm still waiting for them to fix the base game, it has an unplayable framerate on my GTX1060 and FX8350 (same with Dishonored 2). Prey ran like a dream so I played that instead and loved it.
I don't want Disney to ruin Nintendo with their junk political agenda, so no thanks.
They could've made a game that dealt with the real evil of our day, Islamic extremism, but they were too cowardly for that I suppose.
I like the pine trees, reminds me of Halo CE.
It's only dumb when it comes to fps, as mouse users will always dominate console users.
I'm a little concerned because Prey is an amazing game and it didn't sell that well afaik. We'll see I guess.
Someone's jelly that Sony is only doing "well" in a market that PC is dominating...
I think you're forgetting Destiny 2 is an mmo-ish.
I'm not an Xbox fan but the Scorpio has some custom hardware designed to take the strain off of the admittedly weak cpu. See Digital Foundries video for an example. Basically if a game is built using DX12 then the dedicated hardware can take as much as 50% of the work load off of the cpu. If Destiny 2 uses DX12 then it will likely run in 60fps on the Scorpio, get ready for that.
I'm playing on a PC though so either way I get 60 fps ;)
It didn't look possible to make a cool looking character though and the gameplay looks like the same old crap. I'm so glad Sonic Mania's being made. Maybe they will hire the Sonic Utopia team, I think they could make a decent 3D Sonic game.
I haven't liked this game since it changed developer, they don't seem to know how to make decent looking characters.
It's really suited to mouse or touchscreen controls, it would likely feel awful and clunky on a controller.
Why are Sonic Team allergic to Tails and Knuckles?
Dune was by Westwood.
Sega caused their consoles to fail. I was the biggest Sega fan ever before a string of disasters like the MegaCD, the 32X and the 2d focused Saturn (what were they thinking?) etc. After those I lost all faith in them and rightly so. I really hope this is the beginning of a resurgence, but they really need to leave consoles to those that know what they're doing.
Agreed but I'd like to see both, no doubt they have a lot of great IP's already, they'd be up there with Nintendo if they hadn't let them atrophy so much. For starters I'd like to see a new Streets of Rage, maybe they could start with a smaller scale reboot in the spirit of Sonic Mania to gauge interest.
Well I think the Mega Drive and it's controller still look cooler and probably fit better in my hands, but I did really like the SNES' bumpers and their button layout has definitely stood the test of time.
